Giving opens uncommon doors. I remember years back when my daughter had a language exchange programme with a student from France who I had to host for a week as my own child. I had made special preparation for this student to make his time most enjoyable, comfortable and most memorable. I had stretched my budget and a day or two after, I received a call from a retiree lady that she was visiting. When she came over, it was with an envelope enclosing a sum of money for me. I was taken aback and rather hesitant, since it was quite a sum she had in the envelope for me. She honoured my curiosity for her action. She mentioned to me that the Holy Spirit had prompted her, that I should not be hesitant but just embrace her gesture. It was such a laudable gesture. I appreciated her obedience and communicated to her that her action was timely. I was awed at this supernatural supply. I valued the lady’s diligence and acknowledged God’s faithfulness. In one way or another, today I am a witness to her harvest. The fruits of her seed the Lord had arranged far ahead, all she needed to do was to initiate it by acting on His instruction. Her seed had grown and matured, and the harvest continuous. This is similar to plants that keeps yielding fruits all through their lifespan and not just seasonal or perennial. God is committed to His promise on reward and recompense (Galatians 6:9). At God’s ordained time, her harvest came. “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works (Matthew 16:27).
Fruit and harvest await every seed sowed. The sacrifice is worth it. The investment labour in sowing is appreciated during harvest season. You may well enjoy your season of planting now, and keep it watered by Trust in a rewarding God and patience through sprouting to fruiting. Let your life count, invest in sowing with the aim of being an answer to a need. Do the Father’s will. Proverbs 19:17 “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will be pay him again”

About the Book
We sow our time and effort in the work we do for the harvest of income. When no planting has been invested, reaping becomes far-fetched. The hand that sows must reap. Sowing can be in any form. It can be in form a simply gesture or a special sacrifice. Sacrifice implies investing the extra and additional endeavour which may not be easy, but difficult and painful.
Proverbs 19:17 (ESV) tell us that “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.” Whatever good you do for others; you do for yourself. Good gestures are like ladders prepared ahead of the times they will be required in climbing over your own needs. Giving is conduit to Heaven’s assets. It is bed you prepare for how you want to lay.
