Meet Lisa Jo
I’d like you to meet a friend of mine,
Her name is Lisa Jo.
She was born in May,
On the very first day,
And she’s plump from head to toe.
She has dimply cheeks and sparkling brown eyes,
And wears glasses to help her see.
She has curly, brown hair,
Pulled up with great care,
On top of her head like a tree!
Her very best friend is Charlie Boy,
He always helps Lisa Jo.
They share, laugh and play,
Together, each day,
Holding hands wherever they go.
She loves to laugh and ask lots of questions,
She’s friendly and funny and sweet.
Sometimes she’s afraid…
She’s starting first grade!
Her house is on Applewood Street.
If you need a friend, Lisa Jo will be there,
Where you wish, she’s happy to go!
Need help? She’ll try,
She won’t tell you a lie,
She loves Jesus, and wants you to know!
Lisa Jo isn’t perfect, and she makes her mistakes,
But you’ll like her, just continue to look.

About the Book
Lisa Jo returns as a precious little girl who has many questions about the world around her, eager to listen and learn, as she leans on her heavenly Father for comfort and understanding. Sometimes, life’s hardest lessons can be those times when we may cause others to be sad, without even realizing it. Lisa Jo gets to experience the joy of making a new friend, as well as the pain that may come from losing her very best friend, Charlie Boy. She also learns how wonderful it feels to be forgiven.
About the Author
Lisa Hudson and her husband, Charlie, have lived in Clarksville, Tennessee, since November, 2000. They are proud parents of three children and also have two grandsons. Lisa is a children’s Sunday school teacher, and Charlie is the Sunday school director for Gum Springs Baptist Church in nearby Cunningham, Tennessee.
