Tigurrrs of Space
A cat’s front paw rested on a human’s arm
and intended to do no severe harm;
the person was sleeping and began to dream
about scratching giant claws extreme.
The claws belonged to flying tigurrrs from space
with expressions on each animal’s face
that made the creatures look like angels sweet,
except when they wanted more space to compete.
They all always wanted some added space
and hated being close to another’s face;
even on their ship, they wanted more space
and drew lines to keep each tigurrr in its place.
Unique rooms for the tigurrrs in their space---ship
gave each one a tiny space for the trip
with tigurrr-chosen items inside each wall
to make sleeping and relaxing fun for all.
Most beds were strong with wood; some had added straw.
The beds were for sleep and for scratching each paw.
Some toys were the same in their noises and forms;
others were diverse or on different platforms.
At least one wooden branch was in each room
for playing, scratching, and rubbing to groom;
some drone toys flew up high or ran on the floor
with swirling and twirling to be fun some more.
Max and Lily had next-door rooms that were new;
a larger room had been split to make two.
Max had more space and his gain was Lily’s loss;
Max was the brother of the space---ship’s boss.
That night when Max passed near Lily’s open door,
she hissed at him, but backed away from his roar
that claimed all space in the hallway was his own
and was important for his feline throne.
Lily’s open door closed very slowly
to avoid noises partly or wholly
from the space that was supposed to be for all
to use while moving among rooms in the hall.
Max roared some more while walking in the hallway
and passing many tigurrrs that had to stay
out of the hall to let Max use the space
for his own trip to walk to his brother’s place.
As the other tigurrrs moved out of the hall,
they each lost time to give Max some space small;
the time and space connection in a space---ship
were a part of their physical space trip.
When Max arrived at his brother’s large room,
they both together did a great lunch consume
while staring at screens with tigurrrs to view
and chuffling about other tigurrrs they knew.
With stripes, claws, and fur like tigers from Earth,
the tigurrrs had wings for flights to un-Earth
and fly some alluring animals away
to new places on a spatial pathway.
The alien tigurrrs soon finished their trip
and were closing in on Earth in their space---ship
that had claws instead of wheels, so it could stand
steady on any surface when time to land.
Wires exited the metal near the ship’s front
like whiskers as radar for a battlefront,
so a shield could be raised to fight off a storm
away from the ship’s metallic feline form.
The space---ship landed on a beach’s sand;
the tigurrrs with wings talked of what they had planned
by using the language of people and cats
while staring out the windows at many rats.
The tigurrr in charge said, “Those rats look so great,
but we all just need to watch, prepare, and wait
until we’re sure we’re safe enough in this spot
to fly outside, drink water, and eat a lot.
We’ll then find new animals to meet and greet
while growling for some tasty rats to eat.”
Others said “yes” by moving their tails around
and softly waving their wings up and down.
The tigurrrs’ boss looked at a computer screen,
moved his head and said, “We need to be clean,
so the cleaning tigurrrs can do their jobs now;
we’ll then see if the outside is safe somehow.”
The tigurrrs who did the cleaning for their ship
collected trash and went outside on a trip
to bury the trash in the cold, wet sand
because their boss had given them a command.
No problems happened for the cleaning crew
while they talked about soon going to the zoo
and interacting with animals on Earth
while trying to find some info to unearth.
When the cleaning crew came back inside the ship,
the tigurrrs were all joyful about their trip;
the tigurrr in charge then said a few could go
outside the ship to capture some rats to throw
into a bin for present and future food,
so the tigurrrs would be in a happy mood.
A group of tigurrrs used their wings to fly
outside and around the ship’s space to try
and find some good food for their trip back home;
they landed on the ground and began to roam.
Each tigurrr’s stripes created a unique maze
to hide itself from others that could gaze
at the tigurrr’s claws as they scraped around,
but the rats all ran into holes in the ground.
Some noisy cars drove near the space---ship’s spot;
sirens scared the alien tigurrrs a lot,
so they all went inside their space---ship’s space
with a shield hiding their invisible place.
When military planes circled overhead,
they added to the alien tigurrrs’ dread;
the tigurrrs all tried to not make any sound
while preparing their ship as a battleground.
Weapons were readied in the tigurrrs’ ship
standing invisible on a sandy strip
near a lake with rats and bugs running around,
instead of through, the ship’s spot on the ground.
The humans all knew the ship was from space;
they also knew of the ship’s current place
after being told by radar tracking
and seeing the sand shifting down and cracking.
When humans spoke via speakers from their plane,
the tigurrrs thought the humans were inhumane
and threatening all the visitors from space
for landing in their current sandy place.
