"We have to get them back in here," Joseph called frantically as he chased after the loose sheep. Jonas stood up and looked down at his mud covered clothes.
"Now look at my clothes, this is a disaster! I'm going home," Jonas exclaimed with a frown as he tried to wipe the mud off his sweater.
"No way, you help us gather these sheep first," Joseph called to him. The four boys all went a different way and cornered the sheep.
"Okay, now let's make them go back to their pen," Simon said calmly, trying not to scare the sheep.
"If Mr. Edwards could see this, he would never allow us to step foot on his property again," Joseph told the other boys. The sheep filed back trough the gate one by one. When the last sheep went in, Tanner swung the gate shut in satisfaction.
"That's that," Jonas said with great relief. "Now let's not go in there again." The other boys nodded their heads in agreement.
"See, you always say that it's completely harmless, but in the end, it's totally harmful," Simon said, very annoyed, wondering how many lessons it would take to teach the boys that fact.
Jonas looked down at his clothes again and remembered the mud.
Suddenly Simon's eyes got wide. "Where's Trustworthy?" he asked in alarm. The other boys frantically looked around for the black sheep.
"Mr. Edwards favorite sheep isn't in the pen," Jonas wasn't laughing now.

About the Book
The Martin boys’ elderly neighbor, Mr. Edwards has asked Joseph and Jonas Martin to feed his sheep. Of course, the boys are very excited. They invite their best friends Tanner and Simon Johnson to go along. This is the boys’ chance to prove their trustworthiness to Mr. Edwards. But when Tanner’s great idea turns into trouble the boys’ day turns into another adventure. Mr. Edwards had ten sheep in his sheep pen, but now there are only nine. ‘How can Mr. Edwards think them to be trustworthy when they lost his favorite sheep? The four boys must find the missing sheep!
About the Author
Helen and Nancy live in Southern Ontario and enjoy spending a lot of time together and writing stories. Both girls have a wild imagination, adventures are their favorite things to write about. They have been interested in writing since they were very young, and one of their hopes is to travel the world some day.
