“My sister was taking a class in college, and she was to make an abstract creation for her art class. Once she completed her flower creation out of metal and wire, it was beautiful in design and exhibited quite an artistic example of her creativity. But — it was not in any way an abstract example of art.
Her professor told her she needed to make some changes in her art creation if she intended to receive a favorable grade for the project not-to-mention for the semester’s final grade. She had complained to me several times of what she could do to up her grade for this art piece.
Remember, our background was very similar, but our grown-up approach to problem-solving had developed in two very different directions. The different directions became evident as we discussed her not so abstract art project. Our different ideas regarding a solution became dramatically apparent as she permitted me to resolve her problem.
One evening I was visiting with her after a meal at her house. She was again telling me about her dilemma. I told her I could easily fix her beautiful art piece in short order without further delay. I told her it was a simple matter and would result in the kind of artwork her art class professor required to get a satisfactory grade.
She got up from the table and handed me her art project, and I immediately took it outside and placed it behind my car. As I backed over her beautiful art project, in her driveway, it immediately became ‘abstract’ right before her very eyes. I did not have the college education necessary to take on this project, but I had a good idea of how abstract was supposed to look. So I ‘converted’ her beautiful art piece in to an acceptable, unique piece of abstract art and resolved her problem.
The look on her face, the verbal scream of — you have got to be kidding — rose to a somewhat forced level of sound that I could hear inside the car with the windows up. I think a few neighbors also heard because the decibel level was probably around the sound of a loud lawnmower or a passing Harley without a muffler.
Once I pulled forward and ran over it again the ‘redesign’ was complete and took only a few minutes. It bothered me she got so upset because I was only doing what she had ask me to do — I had adapted her artwork to comply with her college art professor just as she had asked. Whew! Sibling rivalry has proven to be a significant challenge in my family ever since that minor event.
Anyway, she got a very good grade on her ‘abstract’ creation and passed the course with compliments for her creativity and compliance to the specified instructions. She still relates back to my help, but now it is with laughter instead of a loud outburst of emotion and horror.
I thought my approach to resolve her issue would have been quite different from her immediate response. It seems our thinking, although based on very similar backgrounds, might have been more in line with each other, but obviously not!”

About the Book
This book describes the different stages accompanied by seasons with numerous variations of difficulty that make up our entire life as we know it on earth. Our physical existence involves many facets that together encompass life as a whole.
Looking at these areas more closely develops a better understanding of how things are realistically and relates a way of life we each experience in common. It also reveals the possibilities God has made available for our quality of life by following His directions and applying His biblical principles.

Our quality of life is directly affected by how we follow after the biblical suggestions offered in the Bible God has purposely provided for our benefit and success in life.
About the Author
Doug Poole spent his life between 0-12 growing up on a farm in Oklahoma and then moving to Wichita, Kansas until eighteen. Completing high school at Wichita South, then on to college at the University of Oklahoma. The Marine Corps, Okinawa, and Vietnam occupied his time until getting married in 1971.
His 42 years of marriage (1st wife deceased) caused him to turn from his single thinking and become involved with a family. The family he got was exactly what he had asked the Lord for and came as a package ready to be enjoyed.
Years of training was necessary to teach him that God’s ways were quite different from his and that he needed more training than he first thought.
His life on the farm growing up, and his godly grandparents proved to be foundational in his development for what was coming in the future.
With the school of hard knocks and the Lord woven all through his life, it brought him in his seventies to finally arrive where God wanted him the whole time.
Now remarried, a season of remembrance and biblical principles have finally persuaded him to seek the Lord for a new adventure. And, that new adventure has been to share with others what God has taught him and to reference God’s principles in the writing of several books.
