About the Book

A ngels Whisper the Story of Creation is a faithful retelling of the account of creation in Genesis 1, written so small children will fall in love with the story. It is a story that describes the love of a Heavenly Father who created children in his image and gave them a home and a purpose in life. The author, father of four and grandfather of three, wanted to make Genesis 1 fun and easy for small children to read and understand. Whimsically written rhyme and elegant watercolor illustrations by Russell Oliviera make this a story to be read and enjoyed over and over again.

“I want children to learn and to know that God created because God loves,” states the author. “This is why hearts figure so prominently in the illustrations and why Psalm 136:1–9 is included at the end of the book. Everything we see around us and every form of life exists because God is love.”

About the Author

Ray McClendon is a poet theologian who is very grateful to God for the gracious gift of verse and thirty years of teaching ministry that has provided a few insights along the way. Ray’s desire is to faithfully retell Biblical stories and explore their principles with lovely art and clever rhyme in a way that will entertain, as well as instruct the mind, touch the heart, and fire the imagination.

In addition to writing children’s books, Ray still serves as an outreach minister for his church and a police/fire chaplain for his community in Petaluma, California. He has been married to Linda, his high school sweetheart, for forty years. They have four children and three grandchildren and consider their close, loving family to be their greatest achievement.

More of Ray’s poetry may be found at his website, Drops of Dew—Reflections of a Poet Theologian at www.dropsofdew.com. Keep an eye out for new releases at www.angelswhisperseries.com.
