Broken Heart Pieces....
I return to my knees. My heart once again has been broken, pieces scattered on the floor. Hurt and pain return to take joys place. I must find each piece.
They are me, they are mine. These many heart pieces need put back together once again and then my heart returned back to it's resting place. Tears fall.
There's a need to understand. Another question arises, why?
The Lord walks up and joins me on my knees. His eyes look into mine, past the tears, deep into my very wounded soul. I return to my search, there's one. I
pick each piece of my heart up carefully and place each into a special pile. The Lord finds a piece and holds His hand out to me. I reach out to take it
and find His hand empty. I return back to my search. Once again, the Lord finds another piece and holds His open hand out. Again I go to take the piece, to
find His hand once again empty. I return once more back to my search. The Lord finds yet another piece. This time as I turn to get the piece, I notice
tears falling down His cheek. I finally understood. I take His hand. Whisper: now no longer empty. The two of us get up and as He holds me, we walk away,
leaving the broken pieces behind.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners. Isaiah 61:1b
to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison, and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. Isaiah 42:7
The Lord opens, frees, releases, and replaces ashes with a crown of beauty. For me that special day the Lord opened my eyes to see His opened, outstretched
hand. The Lord freed me from searching for the pieces and my need for answered questions. The Lord released the hurt and pain for His joy and peace to
return. The Lord replaced many broken pieces of my heart with Himself.

Excess Luggage
As a child, I was told many things about myself from one who I loved and trusted. I believed these hurtful and painful words as truth. I would never amount
to anything, I can’t ever do anything right, I was stupid, and ugly, there’s no hope for me, no one will ever want me, your birth mother chose the bottle
over you, and the endless list echos sadly on for miles.
Finally one day I stood at the shoreline with my luggage that I had been carrying around for many, many years. I thought it was mine, a part of me. I now
understand that it was never mine to carry. It was finally time to set it down and let the waves carry it away far out to sea, where it could finally be
laid to rest on the oceans floor.
God tells us in Galatians 5:1 that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of
slavery. I knew to set the yoke of luggage down.
In Matthew 11:30 the Lord quietly reminds us that His yoke is easy and His burdens are light. I picked up His yoke that whispers, you are fearfully and
wonderfully made. You are loved, wanted, and you have a purpose. Please hear the Lords whispers, You are BEAUTIFUL, and YOU are LOVED.

Beautiful and Loved
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God. You will not despise. Psalm 51:17 This verse includes our precious sons,
as well as for our daughters.
Sadly, many people reject that which is broken, but GOD WILL NOT! He will NOT overlook your brokenness, He will NOT refuse it, nor reject it. Whisper: But
God being love, will fill the broken places with Himself.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love, lives in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:16 YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL and
YOU ARE LOVED.

Sadly, love knows too well the abused, betrayed, neglected, abandoned, rejected, and cheated, just to name a few. Loves gift of joy and trust quickly
fades. Loves flame quietly becomes a smoldering ember. Walls are built, a dark fortress within, protects a heart that breaks.
A Stick and a Stone was written to reach out to those who are hurting. The path of life these days is not an easy road to travel. Praises lifted that we do
not have to travel this road alone.
I was abandoned at nine months of age, placed in Saint Vincent’s Orphanage, and adopted by the age of six. By the age of 14, the streets had become safer.
Abuse had become the norm throughout life.
A Stick and a Stone was written to help those who are hurting, broken, and crushed in spirit. My prayer is that the messages found in my writings will give
others the same strength, hope, and love that I have found in Christ.
