The author, who is my friend and daughter in the ministry, Sister Bolaji, as she is fondly called, served with me in the ministry for 10 years. [Her middle name is Abolaji, shortened to Bolaji.] She was one of those rare true Christians that the Lord sent into my ministry. Bolaji was a practicing Muslim, she converted from Islam to Christianity in 1998. Despite attacks, trials, and challenges beyond human endurance, including hatred, severe persecutions from friends, relatives and disownment by her biological mother, she maintained her trust and faith in the Lord. Now an ordained Minister in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Deaconess Bolaji has been loyal and consistent in her daily walk with God. Bolaji is an embodiment of Godly character. A true woman of God, an ardent giver, she will give her last penny to be a blessing to someone else.
This book you are holding in your hand, TOO GOOD, YET SO TRUE is an amazing inspiration from the Holy Spirit. What a book! If you need a book to encourage you concerning whatever situation you are going through in life - particularly if you are a Muslim who has been receiving inspirations and revelations to convert to Christianity, or an unbeliever who does not accept the existence of God, or you are a Christian who needs refreshing, encouragement on hope and faith building - then you are holding the right book.
Deaconess Bolaji’s experience as a young Muslim, who lived in a polygamous home where partiality, favouritism, injustice, and lack of love reigned, is enough for someone to develop acute mental problems. Coming from a Muslim background, I can understand and imagine the tribulations the author faced. As a young boy, the tenacity and determination with which I studied the Quran came from fear of being beaten. I remembered, as a young boy, if you forgot your memory verses you were in big trouble. It was basically an abuse and a forceful religion too. Coming out of Islam, I must admit is a difficult task, if not arduous. Yet, the word of God says, “If God be for you, who can be against you.”
Deaconess Bolaji emphasised the importance of understanding your purpose in life, and knowing the enemy of your purpose who has an ambition to destroy you. Note the excerpt from the book:
“The only aim of the enemy is to destroy man and prevent him from achieving the purpose of God. To succeed in every stage of life, there is a price to pay, even to achieve mundane titles, degrees, to excel in a career."
This book has been of tremendous blessing to my life and ministry. From the book, I discovered that God has an amazing sense of humour. Right inside the mosque in Medina (Muslims’ Holy Ground), the Holy Spirit visited the author. Let me share something quite important from the book with you:
"Inside this mosque in Medina, I had an unforgettable experience of my life. Anytime I paused to think about this experience, it gave me goose bumps, made me to stand in awe of Jesus, and it reinforced the purpose of God for my life. As I was in the mosque in Medina, I found myself in what appeared to be a trance, oblivious of my environment. While I had no control over myself, I was speaking in tongues and calling on the name of Jesus. I had what could be referred to as the baptism of the Holy Ghost inside a mosque. My sister, who was with me, jolted me back to life. As to where I was, she did not mince words to tell me the consequences of what could happen to me if I was found calling on Jesus, as it was totally forbidden for non-Muslims to go to Medina, not to talk of inside the mosque. The penalty could range from imprisonment or, worse, death."
This is a must read for all. It is a rare gift to the whole world!
