Introduction
The purpose of this prayer book is to help believers to effectively pray the Word of God. This book is about helping believers pray solution-based prayers and not problem-based prayers. God is a God of order, and we must pray His solution, which is His will, the Word. God exhorts us to call on Him, and He will answer us and show us great and mighty things we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3). God is a good God who loves us and loves to answer our prayers, especially when they are prayed in faith. God is pleased when we pray in faith. This is because faith is what unlocks the answers to our prayers and God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). Furthermore, it takes faith to seek Him, and this is how we know that our prayers will be answered. God always answers our prayers when we pray according to His will, and God’s Word is His will (1 John 5:14–15). Jesus prayed, “May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” and as believers, God wants us to pray His will into the earth realm and His Word and faith is the key (Matthew 6:10). We are told in God’s Word that He watches over His Word to perform it and that if we ask anything according to His will, knowing He hears us, He will give us the petition of our hearts (Isaiah 55:12; 1 John 5:15).
Praying the Word of God is His will. The Word of God is also considered the incorruptible seed of God, which means it will not die but live and produce fruit (1 Peter 1:23). The fruit that I am talking about is the answer to our prayers. Praying the Word causes changes in those who are being prayed for and the ones who are praying, this is because the Word is a double-edged sword. It is my belief that prayer is the currency of heaven and nothing happens in the life of a believer or on earth without first praying. Prayer is what changes things; it is a very powerful agent of change. Prayer has been known to stop divorces, discord, anger, jealousy, and a lot more. Prayer is a very effective arsenal used in stopping the forces of darkness (Mark 9:29) and will change people, families, marriages, destinies, communities, cultures and societies, nations, climates, companies, and industries. I was once told by an individual that no amount of praying, intercession, or fasting would help me, that it was a done deal for me. However, what that individual failed to realize was that prayer, intercession, and fasting was in fact the main and essential ingredient.
We are told in the Word of God, that the prayers of the righteous availeth much and that some things can only come out by prayer and fasting (James 5:16; Mark 9:29). We also know that God is not a man, that He should lie, nor the Son of Man that, He should repent (Numbers 23:19). God honors His Word above His name, and He has fidelity to His Word (Psalm 138:2). Also, we know what the Word of God says, that He watches over His Word to perform it and that His Word would not return void but would accomplish that which He sent it to do and that His Word is living and powerful and sharper than any double-edged sword (Isaiah 55:11; Hebrews 4:12). What this means is that whenever you pray the Word of God, you can expect God to answer your prayers. In the Old Testament God told His people to return to the altar with weeping and wailing and with fasting and praying (Joel 1:13–14; 2:12–13, 17). We are admonished in the Word of God to boldly approach the Throne of Grace to obtain help in the time of trouble, and that we should make intercession, petitions, and supplications for the saints everywhere. We are to pray in the Spirit at all times and if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways then will I hear from heaven and heal their land (Hebrews 4:16; Ephesians 6:18; 2 Chronicles 7:14). What the last Scripture means is that in order for our prayers to be effective, we need to confess our sins and obey God and only then will God answer our prayers.
