As Bishop of the State of New Mexico we had to travel a lot. ON one of our trips to California, we went to visit a friend whom we had not seen in several years. When we walked in, I looked at Audrey amazed! She looked ten years younger than she had several years ago when I had last seen her.
“Audrey, have you gone Hollywood on us?” I felt sure she had gotten a face lift. She looked great.
“No, Treeca. This is a new beauty secret!”
“What is it? Tell me ! Everyone needs some help sometimes.”
“Instead of using night-cream: you use a product called ‘Preparation H’ It is based on fish-oil: and has a medical ingredient which shrinks the tissue. That is what reduces the wrinkles in my face.”
“Let’s go get me some.”
Of course I didn’t tell Norman what we were going to buy. He never paid any attention to what I used as a beauty product anyway. I began to use it each night, and my face just glowed. Most of my wrinkles disappeared.
Several months later we had to go to the General Board Meeting in Joplin, Missouri This was an Annual Meeting of all the Bishops across the United States, who came together to do business for the Organization. I couldn’t wait to share my new beauty secret with the friends I had made in this group over the years. I had no idea they would go back to the Hotel and share it with their husbands. Who came together the next morning: and ask Norman, “How could you stand to let your wife use THAT on her face?” I’m sure they emphasized the original use of the product also.
“Treeca, are you really using THAT stuff on your face?”
“Yes, Norman! It is the secret Audrey told me about.”
“I don’t want you using it ever again! Do you hear me? If you do I’ll never kiss you again!”
I could envision all the years ahead of us, with no Kisses. “Okay, Norman I won’t use it again.”
The next year when we went to Joplin again, Instead of driving our usual automobile, (a yellow Cadillac) he decided to economize and drive one of the kid’s car. (A Yellow Toyota) As we pulled up to the luggage un- loading zone of the Hotel, several of our friends were also there unloading their luggage.
Someone asked me, “What happened to your Car?”
I looked at that yellow Toyota, and thought of the yellow Cadillac, and it just popped out of my mouth: “I put ‘Preparation H’ on it!”
I thought Norman was going to pass out! He was furious. He had hoped all of the notoriety over Preparation H had disappeared! Poor little man—he wanted the ground to open, and swallow him up!

About the Book
I feel so grateful for my heritage. My mother and father instilled the principles of Christian living in me early. I watched my mother, who never preached a word, live the life of sacrifice and prayer. This taught me to be strong in the Lord. So many of my brothers and sisters are ministers. I also learned from them. If your name got on my mom’s prayer list, mark it down. Something had to give. She would fast for ten days without food, just drinking water until she heard from God. Many healings came about as an answer to mom’s prayers. This example led me and my household into a way of life that I tried to pass on to my children also. Then they have passed it on to their children. Not all of my grandchildren fast, but all hold the principles of faith very dear and are serving God. As you read this book, you will see that we are not stick-in-the-mud people. Sometimes we are silly! Sometimes we are sad, but we never leave the teaching of our heritage.
I have four children, thirteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. We are following God’s command to Adam to “multiply and replenish the earth!” My hope is that as you read, you will laugh and sometimes cry with the Yarbroughs but will see the hand of God moving in each situation.
About the Author
Rev. and Mrs. Yarbrough were coworkers in the Ministry for fifty years. They were Pastors, Evangelist, Councilors, and Teachers. Pastor had a B/Theology Degree. Being the parents of four children, while traveling around the country as District Bishop for the State of New Mexico, of the Pentecostal Church of God: and also pastoring a church in Grants, New Mexico at the same time was taxing. Many Miracles happened in the lives of the congregations we Ministered to. Treeca also ran the Christian School at two of the locations where they were Pastor.
Were they perfect Pastors? It is doubtful! Were they perfect Parents? Absolutely Not! Were they perfect Christians? Only Jesus carried that title. Pastor Yarbrough went to be with the Lord in 2005. Treeca felt like her Ministry was over also, because she wasn’t expected to survive her husband. But God healed her of a rare Blood Disease. He has since then opened many a door for Teaching and Ministry to different churches. Impact Christian Fellowship has been very gracious to her. They allow her to do as much as she is capable of doing at the age of seveny-eight.
