About the Author

CAROL CAREW was born in Chad to missionary parents Earl and Shirley Dannenberg and has spent years serving alongside her husband, Les, in the heart of Chad, Africa, where they have dedicated their lives to sharing the love of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipleship, and education. With a special passion for children, Carol delights in helping young hearts discover God’s faithfulness through engaging stories that point them to Christ. As the co-founder of a Bible-based English learning center that welcomes hundreds of children each week, Carol has witnessed firsthand both the challenges and the incredible resilience of African children. These experiences, along with the true story of a little Chadian boy whom her parents, Earl and Shirley Dannenberg, led to Jesus while they were missionaries in Chad, have inspired her to write stories filled with adventure, courage, and biblical truth that encourage children to trust God in every circumstance. Carol and Les have four birth children, nine grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, a son from Chad named Daniel, and a number of other young people who call her “mom.” Whether teaching, writing, or serving families in remote villages, Carol’s greatest desire is to see children around the world come to know Jesus as their Savior and grow in faith. Through her books, she hopes readers will not only enjoy exciting adventures but also be reminded that God is always with them, no matter how frightening the journey and they too can learn to trust and serve Jesus. Carol and Les continue their missionary work in Chad, where they joyfully serve the people they have come to love as family.
