Chapter 20 – Come with Me, Be My Friend I was sitting in the front pew of my home church during a Sunday service. In front of me on the wall hung a large wooden cross. While worshiping, I had a vision that came in two parts. In the first, I was walking along a shady dirt lane on a pleasantly warm day. I noticed a man dressed in a long robe walking in front of me. He turned to me and reached out His hand. It was Jesus! He said, “Come with Me, and be My friend!” How excited I was that Jesus wanted to be my friend! But then the scene changed to Part Two. This time, Jesus was up on His cross. His blood was dripping down. He groaned in pain with each breath He took.” When He noticed me kneeling down at the foot of the cross, looking up at Him, He somehow took His hand from the cross and reached down towards me. “Come up here with Me, and be My friend.” I was ashamed because I quickly looked away from Him. And the vision was over. I thought about what just happened. I was excited to be Jesus’ friend in the good times. But when He asked me to suffer for Him, I turned away. How often we Christians like to ignore verses that say “Pick up your cross and follow Me.” My pastor said, “When you’re given a vision, often it’s not about where you are now, but where Jesus wants you to be.” What was Jesus asking of me?

About the Book
Journey with Jesus This is an autobiography of my faith journey with Jesus Christ. Jesus saved my life numerous times, including healing from nephritis, lung cancer, and many procedures to fix the rhythm of my heart. He saved me from dangerous life situations, like being pinned under a fallen maple tree. The biggest miracle was how Jesus healed my relationship with my father. Jesus gifted me with deep spiritual experiences, including two dreams and a two-part vision of Jesus, including His time on the cross. My purpose for writing this book? For those who know Christ, His story will bring a deeper faith in Almighty God and His miracle-working power. For those who don’t know Christ, this story can reveal how God desires a personal relationship that will bring them hope and joy. This book is unique in revealing miracles God does constantly to protect and comfort His children. Journey with Jesus shows how He never leaves or forsakes His people in both good and hard times. Along this journey, Jesus works to draw us closer to a deeper relationship with Him.
