Reading through the New Testament, we see the differing phrases of “For Your sake,” shifting away from the Old Testament’s usage, along with the covenant between God, man, and the law, to the New Covenant where we are set free from the old law, and given redemption through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ our Lord. In this new covenant, God’s people are born again, made new, and now find purpose and fulfillment in Him. So much so that people, starting with the apostles, die for His name. He brings His will and desire into a more personal call for every believer by filling each one of us with the Holy Spirit, Jew and Gentile alike.
