Simple Gifts of Love As warriors of the Lord, and in the business of life, our focus is on the battle, taking ground, healing, deliverance etc. But God, in the battle, wants us to know that He loves us, we are His children and simple good gifts are good! We have six chickens and we were talking about maybe getting a couple more. It was my son who brought it up. All logical reasons were against it, we already had enough, more work etc. My daughter at the time thinking logically said ‘what do we need more for?’ I told her to go ask the Lord and that I sensed it was good (She likes more details than I do). After she had spoken to the Lord: “The Lord said yes for the chickens. She said: I asked the Lord, why do we need more chickens and His response was: “because my son wants them.” Some questions can be that simple to the Father: My son wants them. It touched my heart: sometimes we just need these simple things. As warriors of the Lord, we need to relax and enjoy each other. And allow the goodness of God to still permeate our life through simple good gifts. Prayer: Lord, forgive us and help us to see and enjoy the beautiful simple gifts that you bring and may we bring them to each other. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:7

About the Author
Catherine Disotell teaches women’s Bible study and Sunday school, leads prayer initiatives, and sings with the worship team at her church. She holds a degree in business administration. A Word for Every Day is her first book.
