We all want to be affirmed in what we already believe, and maintain what I will call “comfortable delusions” -- beliefs we hold that cannot be supported by known facts. Some facts will be presented here that are known today but were not scientifically proven a hundred years ago. These new facts present challenges for many scientists and professed atheists causing them to contort their rationale and logic to extremes to deny any possible concept of God. These facts are not taught in many (if any) schools because they would likely lead rational people to question the presumed assumption that the universe and life began spontaneously. There is an agenda in the scientific community and our educational system that is threatened by these inconvenient facts, so they do not teach them.
There certainly are many examples of microevolution in the world, which involves small-scale genetic changes within populations, but none of macroevolution, which refers to large-scale evolutionary changes that can lead to the formation of new species. So, contrary to what we were all taught in school, modern science does not support the spontaneous creation of life on Earth and the evolution (macroevolution) of species. In fact, modern science proves that it was impossible for that to happen. There has not been enough time since the Big Bang, nor sufficient matter in the entire universe to have allowed life to form by random chance.
Some like to believe that life was planted on earth from another planet, or another universe, or another dimension, but the question still remains, “Where did that life come from”? There must be a Creator God that started it all, wherever it all started. But…..which one is it?
To cut to the chase, of world religions, only Christianity is based on one man who claimed to be God – Jesus of Nazareth. All other religions can be evaluated based upon their views of Jesus. This is the acid test for all religions. Either Jesus IS what He claimed to be, or not. There are no other options.
Only Christianity purports that Jesus IS God, that He was crucified, died on the cross, and rose again to life on the third day after He died. Non-biased researchers have found significant evidence that Jesus existed and died on the cross, and there is significant objective evidence that he was seen alive by hundreds of others after the crucifixion.
Did Jesus say He was God? Yes, in many ways, including applying the names and attributes of God to Himself. He made it clear that He was God incarnate, proving it by His words, by His miracles, and finally by His resurrection from the dead. Although they doubted at first, those who were finally convinced of His deity understood why He had to die on the cross. If He were a mere man, His death would have been only sufficient to pay for His own sins, but because He was God in the flesh, His sacrifice was infinite and holy and able to pay for all the sins of the world.
If Jesus did really die and rise from the dead, that changes everything, because He did this for all of us, including you. This is the basis of Christianity and is the true message of Christianity. Jesus is for everyone!
Scripture repeatedly affirms that God wills the salvation of all, that Christ’s redemptive work is universal in scope, and that divine judgment serves a corrective and reconciling purpose. Hell (Hades), death, wrath, and curse are all explicitly said to end, be abolished, or pass away. Scripture presents judgment as real but temporary, culminating in universal submission to Christ and a final state in which death, pain, curse, and separation from God no longer exist.
While traditional Christians can point to verses that seem to imply eternal torment in hell, or alternatively eventual annihilation of those not saved, there are more verses that imply hell is redemptive and not eternal and that God’s love and mercy triumph over all and that eventually every knee will bow and every tongue confess Jesus as Lord.
An AI search I did estimates that roughly 117 billion human beings have ever been born, and of those maybe 8-12 billion have identified as Christians. Assuming the most generous estimate of 12 billion, does this mean that God will torture 105 billion souls for eternity and the lucky 12 billion will be happy about it for eternity?
The only way to be reconciled with God is through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Following other gods or idles will not help you get there, but you may get there in spite of worshiping those false gods by eventually recognizing Jesus as your savior. Universal Reconciliation only comes through Jesus Christ. This can preferably happen during this life, but can also happen the hard way, for those who choose it.
“What IF??????
1. What if God really IS all-powerful?
o Then He can do whatever pleases Him.
2. What if God really IS all-loving?
o Then He certainly would not doom ~90% of His Creation to eternal torture.
3. What if God really IS the Creator of All Things?
o Then He created you, and everyone else who has ever been born into this world, and you are just the way He intended you to be.
4. What if God really IS all-knowing?
o Then He created everything and everyone knowing full well that somewhere around 90% of all humanity would not accept His grace while living.
o He would also know that no portion of Scripture would remain in existence after a few centuries and that copies would be translated and mistranslated into many different versions and languages with no way to check the actual original text.
5. What if God really IS good?
o Then He has a plan for everyone who has ever been born.
6. What if God really DOES want ALL to be saved?
o Then ALL will be saved – eventually.”
