About the Author
Dr. David P. Nerud, Pastor Dr. David P. Nerud is an author, pastor, speaker, and missionary whose work integrates biblical scholarship with practical ministry application. After truly coming to Christ volitionally, with a repentant heart, later in life, he has since dedicated his remaining life to introducing others to Jesus. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Micah Cornerstone Ministries (MCM), which is an international mission organization established in 2017 and active in five countries. Through this work, he has led initiatives in pastoral training, theological education, and humanitarian outreach across multiple countries, with a particular emphasis on equipping indigenous leaders and fostering sustainable community development. Dr. Nerud is also a church planter and serves as a founding leader and the Senior Pastor of Micah Community Church in Horace, North Dakota, established in 2022. His ministry experience reflects a commitment to advancing the Gospel through both ecclesial leadership and global mission engagement, with expository teaching and preaching on the Word of God. Prior to his full-time ministry work, Dr. Nerud completed more than two decades of active-duty service in the United States Army, serving in the Infantry in jungle, desert, and woodland locations with multiple deployments. He retired at the rank of Master Sergeant (E-8) with many awards and decorations, including two Meritorious Service Medals. His professional background also includes executive leadership in armed private security and investigations, as well as service in corrections (County Sheriff’s Department) and emergency response (City Fire Department). These varied experiences contribute to his leadership perspective and practical theology of service, discipline, and mission. Dr. Nerud has also served extensively in chaplaincy roles, ministering in both community and institutional settings, including homeless and rescue shelters, retirement homes, law enforcement, and fire service contexts. His chaplaincy work reflects a pastoral commitment to care, presence, and spiritual leadership in high-demand environments. He holds a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership (DML) from Columbia International University, a Master of Biblical and Theological Studies (MBTS) from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Arkansas, Grantham. Dr. Nerud and his wife, Jennifer, are the parents of five children and the grandparents of six, and they remain actively engaged in ministry together.
