A Spring in the Wilderness

Winter is referred to as the season of trials, the verse for week one is Psalm 74:17 "YOU have set all the borders of the earth; YOU have made Summer and Winter" Meditation: Some things cannot be changed. Space and time are set as unmovable entities.Some may attempt to alter the landscape but it will always be on a very limited scale and within certain boundaries. Another may in the future try to change the times and the seasons but he will surely fail, just as certain revolutionaries in the past temporarily adjusted the number of days in the week and had to reverse it because it was producing chaos. GOD has established the limits of land, sea and sky as well as how the sun operates at different times of the year, reminding us that only HE is unchangeable and we can be secured in that knowledge". End of the year reflection: Philippians 2:8 "HE humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross". Do you get lost easily? I suppose it depends on your sense of orientation and the terrain you find yourself in. As long as landmarks exist and you can remember your way reasonably well, there shouldn´t be too much problem. It´s more difficult when there are no natural signposts such as a moorland landscape with no trees and only simple vegetation. And that is where we all start off on a spiritual level, lost very often without even realizing it. We need a signpost to show us the way and that is where the cross comes in. We only find GOD, and at the same time are found by HIM, when we come to the cross of Christ and believe that HE died on it for us. This is the reason HE came, because of GOD´s great love to seek out the lost. By turning to HIM in faith and turning from our former life we will clearly see the way forward.
