About the Book

David Alan Armstrong found Jesus Christ in a most unexpected place—sitting in church. One simple sermon by a lay member of his congregation awakened a recognition of the need for a Redeemer, a need that had lain dormant for more than twenty years after his baptism at the age of fifteen. Thirty years after that revelatory moment, the author shares his journey toward a living faith in Jesus as the living Savior. His personal story unfolds as he follows the biblical account of Christ’s public ministry recorded in the Book of St. Matthew. The focus is not on Jesus’s sermons and preaching, but on His actions. Every act of Christ was intentional and designed to reinforce His teachings. Rather than discuss Jesus’s parables, this book presents the Savior’s life as a series of informative, living parables. Each chapter quotes a selection of verses from Matthew describing an event in Jesus’s mortal ministry. A brief analysis of the event follows, putting it in context and elaborating on the meanings that can be derived from what Jesus did. The author then relates how the principle has played out in his life. The result is the author’s personal testimony of how studying Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection has brought him closer to Christ as he walks the covenant path.

About the Author

David Alan Armstrong’s conversion to Christ began twenty years after he was baptized. He received a degree in Elementary Education from BYU and a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from USC. Married for over fifty years, a father and grandfather, David’s family comes second only to his relationship with God.
