About the Book
Sometimes, the most important lessons in life come in small packages. A little boy is at a Santa Fe mall with his dad when he starts shouting, “Bok! Bok!” He is thrilled when his own voice echoes back to him. He continues his shouting, just to listen to the echo, until a friendly stranger decides to respond to the child’s calls with ones of his own. The boy is overjoyed that someone else seems to be playing his game with him. Once he discovers his new playmate, the boy dances with joy and leaves his father smiling bright. In that moment, they are all children again, remembering the fun in simple things—things adults often forget or overlook. A simple event can change the whole day and make it brighter! By using his imagination, the small boy taught two adults that happiness can be found even in the most unexpected of places, like the mall. The boy’s new friend helps him connect with his father, as an ordinary day becomes one of joy, connection, and appreciation for the small stuff.
