Don’t dream small dreams. Dream big dreams. We serve a big God. “We have not because we ask not” (James 4:2 KJV). It doesn’t mean that we serve a genie and rub the bottle when we need something. It means that Jesus loves us and wants to use us to Glorify Him and enlarge His Kingdom. He wants to bless us, lead us, guide us, forgive us, heal us, redeem us, and save us right here and right now. Exactly as we are. We should come to Him boldly and receive every gift that He has for us. He wants to bless us so we can bless others.
Thirty-two years ago, a nurse handed my son to me. We were the only ones in the maternity ward. The Lord knows that I love attention and every nurse on duty checked on us and spent time with us. When they handed me this beautiful little baby boy he looked right into my eyes as if to say, “You’re going to take care of me, right?” In that moment full of fear, I felt the Love of Christ rain down on me. As celebration tears streamed down my face I fell in love for the first time in my life. A different kind of love that you can’t describe. All of the labor pains just went away. All of the fear and every mistake I had ever made didn’t matter. In that moment, as I cradled that little baby boy in my arms, the whole world just disappeared. I was given the most precious gift, and if you are a mother or father, you have also received a very precious gift and know what I am talking about. I turn to the Lord sometimes and say the very words that those beautiful little eyes spoke to me: “You’re going to take care of me, right, Jesus?”
As you have read in the previous chapters, I made a lot of mistakes, a lot. Let me tell you it doesn’t matter. I am an imperfect woman loved by a perfect God. Until we get in the presence of almighty God, we will fall short of His Glory. Do you know that you are the apple of God’s eye and that your name is tattooed on the palm of His hand? That’s biblical. He loves you. You can have a personal relationship with Jesus right now. I believe that is His greatest desire for you.
We give the Lord such Joy when we pay attention to Him. Pray to Him, talk to Him, read His word, attend Bible studies or small groups. I believe He longs to hear from His children. I know that we all have busy lives, however, the Bible tells us in Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV), “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” I once heard an acronym for BUSY: “Being Under Satan’s Yoke.” Wow. Won’t you rest in the Lord daily, for His burden is light.
Look for Him in everyday blessings. He is always there wanting to show you great and mighty things which you do not know. You are His beloved and beautiful in His sight. The Lord thought that I was worthy to watch my son grow into an amazing man, marry his high school sweetheart, make me a grandmother, become a business owner; but most importantly, He has taught me that I am a child of the highest King. May I tell you; You are worthy. Worthy to be loved, worthy to live an abundant life and most of all, worthy of a new beginning every single day.
Thank you for going on this journey with me from the End to the Beginning. I pray that you have been encouraged and inspired to Let Go of the Tale that you can never have a wonderful life. Romans 8:37 (NIV) says, “Yet, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
I know that my life is just beginning and I pray this for you as well.
I will leave you with these words and scriptures in the hopes that you may share your own story. It might just be the saving grace that someone needs to survive their own battles, and you will begin to take your power back from the enemy!
“Then war broke out in Heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.” The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: ‘Now have come the salvation and the power and kingdom of our God and the authority of His Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night has been hurled down. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony’” (Revelation 12:7 NIV, emphasis added).
Share your story. May God bless you and others as you do. It’s not the end; it’s just the Beginning!
