About the Book

Miracle in the Margins is a powerful Christian memoir about a man whose life was shaped not by ease or certainty, but by hardship, silence, and the quiet faithfulness of God. Though he grew up surrounded by church culture, true surrender eluded him. Divorce, bitterness, and nearly two decades away from the church marked a season defined by self-reliance and unresolved pain. Everything changed after a catastrophic vehicle accident left him with only a fifteen percent chance of survival. What followed was not a simple redemption story, but a slow, honest journey of healing through coma, chronic illness, financial ruin, and years of unanswered questions. Along the way, God’s provision appeared in unexpected places- buried insurance clauses, unlikely medical interventions, a fishing boat turned sanctuary, and quiet moments where faith was rebuilt one prayer at a time. As physical healing gradually gave way to spiritual renewal, the author found himself called into a life of testimony, ministry, and obedience- often far from traditional church settings. Even as new diagnoses and setbacks emerged, including advanced liver disease and the wait for a transplant, his story remained rooted in hope, perseverance, and trust in God’s timing.

About the Author

Before these trials, the author spent most of his life working in construction and competing in rodeos, building a reputation for grit and independence. He is married to Patty Finley and is the proud father of three children and a grateful grandfather. After his accident, he encountered Christ and experienced salvation by grace, transforming his life and restoring his love for the church. Though he now lives with non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis, his faith remains steadfast, anchored in the certainty that the God who carried him through before will continue to do so.
