Poems of Awakening!

Oh Lord, please forgive me my sins,\nPlease forget the man I've been. My heart is heavy with regret,\nSo heavy, my soul can’t forget. But Your love, Your mercy, Your grace,\nThey lift me from this broken place. Help me finish what I've left undone,\nTo serve You, Lord, the Risen Son. Let me repent, be humble and true,\nShape me, mold me, to witness for You. I know I’m unworthy, my sins are deep,\nThe enemy sowed them, and I did reap. But here I am, on bended knee,\nCrying for mercy, Lord, let me see! The glory that You are, my King, my Lord,\nPlease lift me up from this sinning horde. Lost and Found Loving Christ, the Risen King,\nGot in the way, an inconvenient thing! I lived my life not caring for my soul, just satisfying matters of the flesh, spiritual help I didn’t know. I walked a tightrope all my days, Having fun, never grasping God’s holy ways. Then I fell, hit the bottom hard, At the depth of a deep, dark hole, with hardly any light, just a shard. So I started climbing toward the light, Vowing in my heart to fight the good fight. I realized I couldn’t do it alone, I needed help, then I felt You, O Lord, and was warmed to the bone. A strength came over me like a tidal wave, And I knew what I must do to be saved. Live my life bathed in Your Scripture, Alive for the first time, I finally see the picture! For it’s Your sacrifice upon the cross, That gives us new life, For without You, all hope is lost. Seasons (Inspired by Ecclesiastes 3) I know the Bible says there is a time for all seasons, But when someone dies too young, we still look for a reason! It’s not that we don’t trust in God’s plan, It’s just that we don’t know, we don’t understand! There is a time to sow and a time to reap, we do our best, God’s Word to keep. When the Bible says there is a time for all seasons, We know it’s God’s Word we can believe in. The light and the knowledge of God’s Word,\nHelp us to understand, to not would be absurd. When something happens, good or bad,\nUnderstand, it’s just the season, no reason to be sad!
