Clean Before My Lord

WHAT IF? I thought about my ways and turned my feet to Your testimonies. Psalm 119:59 Seldom do we take time to be still and consider our own ways. We judge others based on our expectations of them. We tend to embellish ourselves in pride and praise and not take heed of our shortcomings. WHAT IF? WHAT IF we take the time and reflect on who we really are? WHAT IF we examine our thoughts? WHAT IF we acknowledge how we react to situations and circumstances? To whom, then, will we compare our character? WHAT IF, after we have peeled back the onion, we discover a character contrary to what we envisioned? What if we find we are void of all the goodness we thought we were filled with. THEN, WHAT IF we turn our feet to God’s testimonies? WHAT IF we live according to His Word? WHAT IF we laid aside every weight and sin (Hebrews 12:1) that gets in the way of fellowship with God? If we really stop to reflect on who we are and examine our thoughts, we may not like what we discover. We will more than likely find the need to be more diligent in following God’s testimonies. We may feel a sense of urgency to turn our feet toward Him and seek Him while He can be found (Isaiah 55:6a). After examining himself, David speedily turned his feet toward God’s law. He got in a hurry, not letting anything get in the way of him keeping God’s commandments. He made haste and did not delay (Psalm 119:60) WHAT IF we consider our ways and turn quickly to God’s Word and obey? Prayer: Dear Father, I confess my slothfulness in turning to Your Word to learn of You. Help me to examine myself and to diligently turn to Your Word. Show me Your way and teach me your statutes. In Jesus Name. Amen
