When the Lord spoke to us about writing a book, we were terrified and uncertain. We were unsure that we had anything important to say. We knew that this was important for a time such as this and that there where tons of people who have a desire or vision from God to step into Kingdompreneurship but didn’t know where to start. Tysean; I remember when my wife and I first discussed starting a business; I had mixed feelings initially because I had never really been self-employed before. With my past and tumultuous up bringing I’ve never seen successful businesses truly come together and work. I was never exposed to business operations and growing up none of my family members owned a business. I had so many friends and family that never stepped out to do what their hearts desired. I used to always tell myself I didn’t want to be like that, however looking back I realized that I had become just like that. I was not sure what it would look like or how we would step out to create the dream that I had in my heart. I always loved photography and videography and used it as a way to escape the daily grind. My initial thought was now I have to expose the world to my gift and in all honesty that was scary. When I first decided to take my business serious and step out to build, I realized that I had to become vulnerable. I had to get to a place where the thing that was initially just a passion and that I used as a release from stress was now a lifestyle. I could no longer run from it but had to embrace it. Being a person who likes to sit in the background and not be front and center in this way I now had to learn to live out loud. I spent so much time as a musician sitting behind the scenes accompanying the singers that I had become comfortable in that position. I heard the Lord tell me you are the key to someone else’s purpose and until I stepped into my destiny they would be hindered. I prayed and asked God to remove the fear and doubt, lead us and guide us through this journey and silently said God I Trust you! I looked my wife in the eyes and said, “LET’S JUMP”! Geneva; I remember asking in prayer what to write, how to write and feeling like I was unequipped because I had never written a book before. I found myself questioning my abilities and if I was really hearing from the Lord. His answer: Jeremiah 1 v 4-10. In this passage God told Jeremiah that he called him from before he was in his mother’s womb. He ordained Jeremiah as a prophet to go forth and speak. He was anointed to “root out and pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant.” Then he gave me this; Geneva I have called you just as Jeremiah to Root out and pull down the lies and thoughts of unbelief that My children are experiencing in regard to their capabilities to create and build. To destroy and throw down every plot and plan of the enemy to keep vision from being birthed and God’s children from creating. To build up a nation of Kingdompreneurers who will go forth and be the answer to the world's prayers, born and ordained for a time such as this. This is my mandate and I pray that this book unlocks all that is inside of you, that you will go forth, Create, Produce and Build. What most of us do not know is that the world is waiting on us! There is something within each and every one of us that was specifically created and designed for us to accomplish. The problem is that life happens and through the process of living we forget all of the beautiful and wonderful things we used to dream as a child. Just know at the perfect time God will place someone in your life to help unlock all that has been shut off, closed off and locked away because of the journey of life. I’ve been blessed to connect with several coaches and mentors who have helped me to unlock things that were hidden deep inside of me. Some have poured and others have pushed and I am truly thankful! I was having a conversation with one of my mentors about writing this book and launching out into a new venture and she said something so very profound to me that made me stop and think. She said Geneva I need you to be childlike with God. I need you to turn off the logical side of the brain and tap into that part where you can dream like a kid! No one had ever told me that before, “Dream like a kid”. As an adult who has experienced a very successful career and life, I forgot what it even felt like to be a kid let alone dream like one. However, once I tapped into that place, I began to experience vision and dream like NEVER BEFORE! I want you to do the same thing. Open your heart and mind and dream like a child! Be open to every step of this process and allow your Kingdom Purpose to be unlocked and Kingdompreneurship to be birthed within you!
