The Star of Ephesus has increased his luminance by a few frequencies. Jesus has bragged on his good work. Jesus was proud of him. Jesus was honoring him. Then comes that heavy word that no one wants to hear. In v4 Jesus says, "Nevertheless." And suddenly his light dims like a dying lantern. "Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love." And that's all He has to say! Isn't that enough? The indictment lays like a fire blanket over the flame of a candle. "You have done so well with your Labor and your Leadership and your Liberty. But you just don't Love me like you used to!" What an indictment. "You used to love me more than you do now." I am impressed with the idea that this lack of love is the root cause of all the negatives Jesus has revealed to all Seven Stars.

About the Author
Since 1972 Ken Stone has served in various ministry and church staff positions before becoming the pastor of First Baptist Church of Clayton, Texas in 1984. He is a 1992 graduate of Luther Rice University with a B.A. in Biblical Studies. Also, as founder of Ebenezer Ministries International, Inc., he has made numerous international mission trips. His current ministry includes an international email network through which he mentors indigenous pastors and offers them free copies of his first book, Living In Full Empowerment.
Ken is disheartened by repeated news of fellow pastors falling prey to numerous temptations, deconstructing their faith, even fully renouncing the faith and leaving the ministry. He writes with a bold, Holy Spirit-led passion from a biblical perspective to help others and himself stay free from a myriad of deceits, both modern and ancient. His priority in writing is to help catch a falling Star.
Born in 1955, Ken has been the loving husband of Susan Jett Stone since 1976. They have five married children and are still accumulating grandchildren.
