Looking back, I realize every strikeout, every hard lesson, and every heartbreak prepared me for this life of purpose, faith, and perspective. Baseball taught me discipline and resilience, while faith gave me meaning. Life’s innings continue long after the lights fade on the diamond, and God’s work in our lives goes far beyond what we can see.
Now I watch my son step into his own innings: college, career, and life beyond my guidance. The lessons come full circle. Every game of catch, conversation, and quiet moment together shaped him, just as the game shaped me. The true measure of victory isn’t in statistics or trophies. It’s in the character, faith, and love we develop and pass to the next generation.
Extra innings are about impact—about using your gifts, opportunities, and trials to serve others. Encourage, mentor, pray, and remain present. Swing boldly, even if the outcome is uncertain. Trust that God’s plan is perfect, even when it looks different from what you imagined.
As you step into your own extra innings, ask: How will you live a life that counts? How will your faith guide your choices? Let Faith be your guide. Let Focus shape your effort. Let Fundamentals strengthen your character. Life beyond the diamond isn’t about avoiding curveballs. It’s about how you respond, whom you serve, and how you walk in faith through each challenge.

In life, it’s easy to run from things—fear, pain, doubt, or the unknown. But baseball teaches us something different. When the bat connects and the ball is in play, you don’t run away. You run to. Every step has a direction, and every base has a purpose.
Hebrews 12:1 reminds us to “let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Like baseball, life is not about running from something. It is about running to something. Ultimately, we are running to Someone: Jesus. As you round life's bases, remember He waits for you at home plate, arms open wide. He is ready to welcome you.
So, I challenge you: leave nothing in the dugout. Tighten your batting gloves. Adjust your helmet. Step into the batter’s box—own your moment. Swing with courage. Give it everything. Run the bases with integrity and perseverance. Never let up. Mentor, love, and live with purpose daily. When the final out is called, the game may be over, but God’s grace never ends.
