Our wedding went off beautifully. We were married on October 17th 2015. There were not many in attendance, but I honestly cannot remember much that was said. I told her later that at that moment I knew I was right where God wanted me to be, there in that church, marrying my best friend and the most perfect and beautiful woman in the world. We were so blessed. She later recorded in her journal “My father walked me down the aisle to the wedding march. I felt beautiful, Wolfgang looked so handsome. I know we are such a blessing and we were surrounded by blessings, Angels even.” Our honeymoon was in a Teepee in a campground in Western, NC. It was cold, but we were warm and in perfect love, Unconditional and Unrestrained as true love is supposed to be!

About the Book
When Wolfgang Axel first met the woman who would eventually become his wife, he could see she was beautiful, reserved, and genuine. Erika had been seeking a Christian man who could understand her complicated past, recognize her as a survivor, and support her in always putting the needs of her children above her own. It was not long before Wolfgang knew he had fallen in love with an angel. In a candid retelling of his relationship with Erika and others he has met along the way, Wolfgang shares the story of how their love grew into marriage and then how her lifelong battle with depression eventually prompted her to end her life. As he discloses how he suddenly became a member of a club no one wants to join, Wolfgang leads others down a path through his experiences as he bravely faced his monumental loss, walked through the pain of grief, sorted through the damage left behind, and sought strength from God. Throughout his memoir, Wolfgang reminds others that there is purpose in survival, beauty in resilience, and hope in every heartbeat. About the Author
Wolfgang Axel is a pastor in the mountains of North Carolina. He is a military veteran who served in combat tours in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, and Bagram, Afghanistan, as well as assignments in other countries. He earned a BA in history and an MA in religion and biblical studies. Pastor Axel currently speaks and lectures about living on faith in a broken world.
