About the Book
“Don’s life story is a study in adventurous, entrepreneurial living. His memoir is a testimony to a remarkable life as a husband, father, grandfather and man of God”. —Dan Madson
Donald C. Selje’s story begins in 1950s Wisconsin and unfolds through formative decades that included college life in the 1960s and attending his parents’ wedding in the 1970s.
Together, these experiences set him on an unconventional path marked by a wide range of jobs, moves, relationships, and circumstances—each playing a role in shaping him as both a family man and a businessman.
This personal memoir is written for family and friends and is woven with a spiritual thread. It highlights a life-altering medical event and the enduring wisdom found in the Book of Proverbs.
The author has regularly turned to thirty-one chapters of the book of Proverbs when searching for answers. With themes such as honoring the Lord and your parents and its admonitions pertaining to fools and sluggards, the guidance in Proverbs is just as relevant today as it was three thousand years ago.
Ultimately, the author hopes his journey reveals not just the events of his life, but who he is as a person, while affirming his belief in the guiding hand of a shepherd and savior.
