About the Book

Have you ever related to the wife of Proverbs 31? Maybe you thought she was too perfect and unrealistic for today’s world, or maybe you didn’t think you could follow in her footsteps. Even though I am not yet a wife, I have always related to her. I started thinking that maybe we don’t have to be married to follow in her footsteps. Maybe we can just look at her as a woman, not a wife. So, this book is for any woman who wants to walk out the calling God has placed on her life- whether single, dating, or married. We can all strive to be more like The Proverbs 31 Woman. Through prayer, practice, and grace, we can work to embody the characteristics she possesses.

About the Author

Hi, I’m Katie!
I spent my college years earning degrees in Elementary Education and Early Childhood and Family Studies. Basically, I’ve always known I wanted to be a wife and mom someday. I taught second grade at my local elementary school and loved it… for a while. After seven years, though, I felt God calling me toward something different—something slower.
I still had a passion for teaching children, but I didn’t want it to be my job anymore—I wanted it to be part of my daily life. The tricky part? I was single, so I wasn’t sure how to live out that calling. By God’s grace, I found a new role at a university, which I love. Honestly, I often question how I’m even qualified for this position, but God qualifies those He calls!
Even though I still have a huge desire to get married and have children someday, God has put a new passion in my heart: women’s ministry. And that’s where this book enters the picture.
I never thought of myself as a writer—in fact, I didn’t even like reading until recently! One day, the Holy Spirit prompted me to read Proverbs 31 and take notes. Before I knew it, my journal was filled page after page. From there, organizing those thoughts naturally grew into this book.
The whole process has felt scary but also like I was made for this—as if everything I’ve experienced in life has been leading me to write these words. I still can’t fully comprehend it. I am far from the “perfect Christian” and have made more mistakes than I can count, but God is so good. His plans are so much bigger than me.
I look forward to all that He has in store, and I hope my story encourages you to walk boldly in God’s will for your life, too.
Thanks so much for reading!
