One might ask, how is it that God, Master and Creator of all things, God of love, mercy, grace, compassion, forgiveness, a God that loves His children and wants the absolute best for them, ruler of all things, giver of all things, a God who weeps, who reacts and responds with emotion, possibly allow someone to suffer? A God who loves without condition, a God who is faithful, a defender, comforter, provider. A God who keeps His promises, who’s love never fails and always endures. A God who is pure and righteous in all His ways. A God who is perfect and makes no mistakes. A God that knows all things, before it even happens. A God associated with good and not evil. A God, who’s plan for you is already written out. There is nothing in your life, that has happened or will happen, that comes as a surprise to God. Nothing. He knows all things. And it is this God, the God that is praised for His works and what He freely gives that we choose to remember. We hold onto this one aspect of God, so much so, that when we are faced with storms or challenges in life, we blame Him. We fault Him, become angry with Him. Because what we’ve chosen to be in relationship with, is that of good: what feels good, what looks good. The job He allowed you to get, the unexpected check you received in the mail, the “thing” that triggered an emotional response of happiness or joy. But the same God that blesses, is the same God that will allow affliction and persecution. He will allow hardships, trials, illness, losses, and rejection, to strengthen and perfect you. To shift you, aligning you with His purpose for your life, allowing the storm to only produce the good in you, for His glory. What God allows is never without purpose and is indeed a part of His plan. And as difficult as it may be to even fathom or think, we must also thank Him and be grateful for the storms, trials and hardships, as it is the result of the storm, that perfects you, shifts you, carries you to the next level, and pushes you into your destiny. The end result is always better than how it began.
