About the Book
On the night in which Jesus was betrayed, He instituted what has become known as the Lord’s Supper or the Communion. In this book, one article is titled “The Lord’s Supper Primacy.” The gist of this article is that the Lord’s Supper is the most important part of the worship service and one that should be included in every worship service.
Often, when the Lord’s Supper is celebrated, one of the church members will make some remarks prior to partaking of the elements. However, the speaker might just read Matthew 26:17-30 or I Corinthians 11:17-34. In my opinion, saying more than this would better manifest the significance of the memorial. This book contains well over one hundred that I have delivered in various churches I have been a member of over the last thirty years.
The book also contains some articles that I have presented prior to the offering plates being passed. Finally, two articles on prayer are included. One should convict the reader of the importance of prayer, while the other mentions some common prayer habits that might better be eliminated. Daily prayer should be a habit, but how one prays should not be a habit.
About the Author
The author has been asked to preside over the Lord’s Supper many times during the last thirty years. His talks have been so popular that he was asked to compile them in a book. Some people have told him that they remember a talk he gave a few years ago. He doesn’t have a theology degree, but I has been a Christian for 53 years, and he has been a diligent and detailed student of the Bible
