About the Book

This research aims to explore existential questions that relate to both biblical theology and scientific theory. The general question is, how can these disciplines relate to a better understanding of the Incarnation and to better understand the operation of the Triune God? We will attempt to address these various topics and then clarify and refine our basic understanding of the universe and how that relates to the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. This study is an attempt to better understand that theological science and natural science are both at work in the same world seeking understanding within the rational connections and regularities of space and time. Although much of this work will be devoted to scripture and earlier attempts to harmonize science and the Christian faith, my project is to understand quantum theory as a tool to help explain the Triune God and the Incarnation. Physics is predicated on locality, and because entanglement runs counter to locality, its polar opposite nonlocality may be the reason for so much skepticism of quantum theory. Non-locality suggests that the universe is in fact profoundly different from our habitual understanding of it, and that the separate parts of the universe are actually connected in an intimate and immediate way. Nonlocality and entanglement are literally connected like Siamese twins. The objects of concern are not physically near each other and may be billions of light-years away, jod through the process of entanglement become interconnected. These types of scientific statements lead to the mysterious ways that quantum theory may better explain, and help us to better understand, the operation of the Triune God. It has been proven and stated of entanglement that the ultimate outcome is, they each become permanently connected, or dependent on cach other's status and properties, to the extent that they effectively lose their individuality and, in many ways, behave as a single entity. These scientific concepts fit perfectly in orthodox Christian belief as to one God, three persons theology. This challenges conventional thought, and no previous discovery has posed more challenges to our sense of thought about everyday reality than nonlocality. This may have already better explained the workings and essence of the Triune God. This original research is conducted against the backdrop of an American society that is divided on issues of science and faith. As discussed below, rather than undermining beliefs about the Triune God, Quantum theory has the potential to affirm our belief and demonstrate that even the most mysterious aspects of the Triune God might be explained in scientific terms. Further, the integration of theology and Quantum theory could inspire greater interest and understanding among persons with low religious engagement, who might understand that the truths of our faith are grounded in and supported by the truths of science. It is difficult to explain this activity if not for quantum theory, hence Einstein's; apprehension with the theory.
