Transformation of Life: An Extraordinary Testimony of an Ordinary Believer

I. First Encounter with Grace – The Night of Rebirth in 1997
In the second month of the lunar year 1997, the early spring chill lingered. At that time, I was a rural woman plagued by illness, crushed under the weight of life’s burdens and physical pain. I remember the day my elder sister-in-law came to my home, her eyes shining with an unusual light. She took my hand and said, "Sister, there is a Savior who can heal all your pain."
Back then, I knew nothing about Christianity, but the sincerity in her words moved me. Three days later, on a bitterly cold night, I attended a baptism service at a church. The frost was heavy that evening, and our gathering took place by a small river in the countryside, where we huddled around a bonfire for warmth. The church held such baptism services only once every few years, and that night, over a hundred people waited to be baptized.
When the pastor called my name, I was the first to step into the river. The icy water sent shivers through my body, but the moment I rose from the water, an indescribable warmth surged from my head to my toes. Years of sickness seemed to vanish instantly, replaced by an overwhelming lightness. At that time, I didn’t even know how to pray the simplest prayer, yet I experienced the truth of Scripture firsthand: "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
II. Trials of Faith – Witnessing Three Miracles
1. The Healing of the Sick Pigs
Not long after believing in the Lord, my family faced a crisis with our pork stall. We had bought two sick pigs that were on the verge of death—even the veterinarian could do nothing. Kneeling beside the pigpen, I began to pray, "Lord, these two pigs..." Before I could finish, my husband called me in for dinner, laughing at me for becoming "obsessed with religion."
But that night, a miracle happened. The next morning, the pigs were completely healed, lively and energetic. My husband stared at me in disbelief. I knew this was God showing me: "Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24) And Deuteronomy 28:3-4 seemed written just for me: "Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb, the produce of your ground, and the offspring of your livestock..." This miracle not only shocked my husband but also strengthened my fledgling faith.
2. Guardian Angel in a Motorcycle Accident
In the days that followed, I survived two serious motorcycle accidents. The first happened while I was delivering goods—the bike lost control and plunged off a small bridge. My right ankle was mangled by sharp rocks. When I returned home, brothers from the church prayed for me. Astonishingly, within three days, the swelling vanished, and the wound healed unusually fast.
The second accident was even more terrifying. My motorcycle skidded on a turn and flew off a three-meter-high embankment. When I regained consciousness, I found myself with only minor scratches. It was as if Psalm 121:7 had come alive: "The Lord will keep you from all harm."
3. Miraculous Rescue from the Flood
My home was near a river, and every flood season brought danger. One summer, while washing clothes in the river’s center, a flash flood surged from upstream. In an instant, the water rose to my waist. Villagers on the shore screamed, certain I was doomed.
At that desperate moment, I cried out, "Lord Jesus, save me!" Suddenly, something incredible happened—the floodwaters began swirling around me as if blocked by an invisible wall. I scrambled ashore just before the raging torrent crashed down. The villagers stood in awe, exclaiming, "This is a miracle!" It was a fulfillment of Isaiah 43:2: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you."
III. The Turning Point – From Vision to Calling
Three months after believing, God gave me a vision. In it, an angel showed me the glories of heaven and the horrors of hell. Heaven was filled with indescribable peace and joy, while hell echoed with agonized wails. I woke with my pillow soaked in tears and began interceding fervently for souls.
In 2004, during a special meeting, when the pastor laid hands on me, the Holy Spirit descended like fire. I wept uncontrollably, enveloped in divine warmth. In that moment, I knew God was calling me to serve Him. Yet trials soon followed.
In 2006, my husband died in a mining accident after dabbling in idol worship. Meanwhile, our church faced persecution, and my son endured bullying at school. During those dark nights, I wept and prayed, but God reminded me: "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9) I learned to "rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation" (Romans 12:12).
IV. Fruitfulness in Ministry – The Power of the Holy Spirit
Led by the Spirit, I started a small prayer group. Week after week, we witnessed miracles. One unforgettable testimony was Sister Wang Huan’s.
Wang Huan suffered from schizophrenia. Her uncle, a hospital director, declared her condition incurable. But as we prayed, God healed her completely. Today, she is not only whole but also a fellow worker in the church. Her grandparents came to faith because of this miracle—a living fulfillment of Mark 16:17: "These signs will accompany those who believe."
In 2016, I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Doctors gave me months to live. That night, my hair turned white, and my face wrinkled with despair. But in my darkest hour, I chose to trust God alone, abandoning all medication. By 2023, I watched as the tumor passed from my body. Medical tests confirmed the cancer was gone. Even more astonishing, long-lost debts were repaid through legal means. Through this, I understood: "My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways." (Isaiah 55:8)
V. A Dual Testimony – Proclaiming to the World
To Non-Believers:
Nine years ago, doctors sentenced me to death. Today, I stand here in health—not by medical science, but by the power of the living God! Dear friend, this same God wants to work wonders in your life. "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13) You can experience this salvation today.
To Believers:
Dear family, every trial God permits is a crafted blessing. Looking back, my greatest breakthroughs came when I surrendered completely. When we stop relying on ourselves and trust Him fully, we experience "all things working together for good to those who love God." (Romans 8:28)
Conclusion: A Life Transformed
This is not a story of a perfect saint, but of a broken life rebuilt by God. From a sickly rural woman to a witness of miracles; from a grieving widow to a servant leading many to Christ; from a terminal cancer patient to one healed by God’s hand—every step overflowed with grace.
As Job declared after his trials: "I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You." (Job 42:5) Today, I testify with my whole life: Our God is real and alive! His love endures forever, His faithfulness to all generations.
May my journey inspire you to encounter this loving God in every season. No matter what you face, remember: With God, nothing is impossible!
Amen!
