About the Author

Dr. John Mark Carter received his bachelor’s and first master’s degrees from Western Kentucky University, his second master’s degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTC), and his Doctoral degree at Indiana University, Bloomington. While serving in the United States Navy at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, VA, Dr. Carter participated in Bible studies using the Navigator Bible Study materials. Additionally, aboard the U.S.S. El Paso – LKA 117, Dr. Carter codeveloped and led Bible studies for fellow sailors aboard ship. His teaching positions were at Indiana University, Western Kentucky University, Wingate University (Charlotte, NC area), and Campbellsville University in Kentucky. He was ordained as a minister in 1975 while attending SBTC. This is his second book. The first book, The Parsons’ Sons, is a historical fiction novel about the Civil War Battle of Mill Springs, Kentucky. Dr. John Mark Carter currently resides with his family in the Pleasant Hill Community on Lake Cumberland, Kentucky.
