About the Book
Our warriors are returning to the communities and looking for purpose and direction. The King has spoken. A mission has been issued. But where do warriors fit in modern Christian society? In a faith-based field manual for operators who understand orders, discipline, and commitment, military veteran Marcus Howell speaks directly to warriors who know that the fight does not end when the uniform comes off. Structured using the US Marine Corps five-paragraph order, Howell fuses military operational planning with biblical truths to frame the Christian life as active spiritual warfare. In combination with orientation, situation, mission, execution, administration, and command tools, he draws from scripture to demonstrate that God is not distant from conflict while addressing deception, endurance, faith, prayer, fasting, and command authority through a lens familiar to veterans and leaders. Written for the warrior seeking structure in their faith, this Christian guide delivers a clear framework for discipleship, leadership, and spiritual readiness.
About the Author
Marcus Howell was born and raised in East Texas and spent his early years crawling under the church pews while his father preached at the First United Methodist Church. He was all boy and could be found any time the sun was up running the backroads and causing just the right amount of havoc. He grew up in a true God fearing, country living, loving home. When he was old enough to be asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” He stood tall and said, “Only the best will work: a United States Marine.” Two weeks after he graduated high school, he caught a flight to MCRD San Diego and earned his right to call himself just that. After completing the School of Infantry, he spent four years with First Battalion, Fourth Marines C CO and saw two combat deployments to Iraq. After an honorable discharge, Marcus moved home and married his high school sweetheart Stephanie and two years later became the father of a beautiful daughter, Presley. Marcus and Stephanie opened Axe Moving Co Inc. in 2015 with a dream to serve people whom were moving into new chapters of their lives in a Christ-filled, servant-hearted way. This company was pivotal in providing him the necessary space and tools to grow a servant’s heart and learn just how God sees people in all different walks of life. After a few years of running a company and raising a daughter, Marcus and Stephanie both felt a call to step back into their faith and began attending FBC Canton. When looking for somewhere to plug in they both walked into the youth department and never looked back. They were given the honor of walking with students from sixth grade to twelfth grade while teaching in a small group setting. This opportunity opened a door and a desire for Marcus write a program called “Launchpad.” Launchpad is a weekend-long retreat for junior and senior boys where they focus on the truth of the Gospel and fellowship together. Presently, Marcus can be found teaching on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights, and any time in between. Whether teaching in a youth room or a moving truck, his passion will continue to be bringing the Gospel to people in all walks of life and showing them the true meaning of how to live like heaven is just a blink away.
