Gloria Ellen Johnson could not help thinking how dissatisfied she was with her life one day on her way to church. Overweight and overwhhelmed, she was unahppy and feeling low—and she felt helpless. Even though she was married with two children and in nursing school to become a registered nurse while working full time, all she could think were negative thoughts. While singing a hymn during worship, she noticed a tall, beautiful, slender black female accompanied by a male guest. She had nice features, a beautiful brown complexion, and shiny black medium-length hair. She had on a beautiful sky-blue pleated dress that fit her very nicely. As the author gazed at her standing and singing, she felt a surge of jealousy. The author and her husband invited the woman and her male companion home to eat lunch, eager to learn who they were. They discovered the woman was named Kchim: She had servd in the military, was a widow, and had no children. She was a nurse. As time went on, the author would learn things about Kchim’s life that she was at first was relectant to share. What she found out would change her life forever.

Gloria Ellen Johnson, a retired registered nurse, lives in South Carolina. She is the mother of a living daughter, a deceased son, and grandmother of three granddaughters and one grandson. She enjoys cooking, gardening, advocating for the elderly, feeding the homebound, and helping others learn the truth about God.
