If the thought of the earth’s creator keeping a record of things you have said and done seem a bit scary, you’re totally not alone. It scares the fire out of almost everyone. That thought alarms me too, but only momentarily. You see I am also aware of all God’s promises for blotting out sins, God’s promises of forgiveness, and God’s open door to establish a relationship with Him. A relationship? Relationship with God may sound foreign or even somewhat corny to you, but not to those who successfully seek God, for they now live a more peaceful, less stressful, less burden filled life. If you’ve always felt there is something missing in your life, and you can’t quite put your finger on exactly what that is. If no matter what you accomplish, acquire, or establish still just leave’s a little emptiness. If the satisfaction of all that seems good in your life evaporates too quickly. Without understanding it, you have something in common with multitudes of people worldwide, you have not established a relationship with the creator of all things. What separates mankind from all life on earth, centers around the unique foundation of fact, you have a soul and are a spiritual being. You may daily feed your body while neglecting feed for your soul. Failing to feed your soul impacts the quality of your life here on earth. As important as a satisfied happy earth life is, it is pale in comparison to the importance of where your soul will spend eternity. There is a peaceful assurance of knowing that your name is written in God’s Book of Life. Getting right with God is much easier than most the world suspects. God is very welcoming and loves to forgive. Heaven celebrates every time a person turns their life around and comes to God.
Luke 15:7 In the same way, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who changes both heart and life than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need to change their hearts and lives.
There is nothing more urgent or important than committing to connect with God.
Unfortunately, people can be very intentional when it comes to planning and packing for a vacation or other special event in their life, while obliviously ignoring to plan or give thought to prepare for eternity. Imagine not planning or preparing in any way for a vacation. Awake the first day of vacation, scurry around to throw a few things in a suit case, without maps or GPS leave for a destination that pops in your head. Facing all the unknowns prevalent in that scenario would undoubtedly produce more frustration than typically sought by someone desiring some degree of relaxation while vacationing. Don’t let your preparation for eternity be that unintentional! The results are too important and the eternal stakes extremely high. You’re much to intelligent to think like a fool, and only a fool would not care if their name were written in God’s Book of Life. Make it your goal today to discover God’s path to eternal life. God allows you to control your eternal destiny. Don’t listen to the words of some worldly chatter box who tells you “If your good outweighs your bad” you get a ticket to heaven. Those words are simply not from God! Instead rely on the source, listen to the words God freely provides for everyone directly from His Holy Word. Remember, that although God wants everyone to be saved, He forces no one to submit to his ways. Individually you must come to Him of your own accord. Your decision, your destiny, are in your own hands. If you are questioning your personal status on the matter, you may want to read the addendum on salvation.
We should all want to make sure we are in right standing with God when that unavoidable final day of judgment arrives. For those not prepared it will be ten thousand times more frustrating than for someone who merely misses a bus, train, or plane. I can’t even imagine how devastating it would feel to suddenly become aware that I passed the point of no return, time provided by God to get right with Him had evaporated, and now it is simply too late. Like the buzzer at the end of competition, it is game over, the end has come, the results are cast and unchangeable. Shaking in fear, I would realize that the end time judgment spoken by Daniel during his vision had arrived. The empty feeling will be multiplied many times more than any emotion your soul has ever experienced in life, a total separation from God. Some will feel this horrible emptiness at death, lessor numbers as a function of actual end times.
Daniel 7: 9-10 "As I looked, thrones were put in their places, and God, who has been alive forever, sat on his throne. Many thousands of angels were serving him, and millions of angels stood before him. Court was ready to begin, and the books were opened.”
When the books are opened, time for regrets and good intentions will have evaporated. We will stand alone, numb and shaking in great fear, awaiting the judgment that must be set before us. Our souls everlasting fate is about to be declared. It is now way too late for would have, could have, should have, possibilities. If you are one of the many who missed your opportunity to seek the Lord while you were on earth, the dark loneliness of separation from God will invade your soul with crushing weight. There is no way for anyone to put in words, the emptiness and severe disappointment that will overwhelm a soul receiving the news that heaven is not their final destination. The best news of today, is that all the opportunities to seek the Lord remain open and available to everyone.
