Living in the fear of the Lord isn’t just about obedience or willingness to pack your bags for whenever God opens a door for you to walk through—it’s more than that: It’s also about being still and knowing that He is God, whose plans sometimes involve closed doors and trials that test our faith. Could our lives be so filled with noise, news, and niches that He just wants to silence it all so we can hear His voice? Even as a Christian, you might feel so lost in life to be saved by grace, but just because God’s not giving all the details, that doesn’t mean He has run out of good plans: It means that He’s working on a great plan that you haven’t seen yet! Proverbs 19:23 says, “The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil”—which doesn’t mean that you’ll never open your inbox to an email saying “We’re sorry but…” or become the victim of a rejection letter, but that you’re believing to see that God has everything under control—and more than that—you believe (by faith) that He has good plans for your life.
