About the Book

“Alone in my hospital room at age 67, I had three dark callers knock on my door: regret of the past, anxiety over the present, and fear of the future. I felt as empty and as useless as the four bare walls of that room until I saw the sun peek through the distant window and then remembered the words of the Apostles Creed: ‘I believe in God the Father Almighty, . . .and in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord, . . . and in the Holy Spirit.’ That’s when hope also found its way in. This I believe. No matter the circumstances, everyone can have hope. And as I look back on my life, it’s been the Gospel hope summarized in the Apostles Creed that has made all the difference in the world to me.”
In the Drama Driven Life – a powerful blend of Bible study and spirituality –, author Steven Neil Lund takes you on a personal journey of keeping company with God in three persons through the Apostles Creed. He seeks to help these kinds of readers:

• “I want a closer walk with God. How?”
• “Life can be downright hard. Why?”
• “I’m stuck. Nothing moves. I feel invisible. It’s like I’ve been sucked into a swamp with all kinds of questions, doubts, and fears.”
• “How can I bridge the gap between truth – which seems abstract and ethereal – and life, which is concrete and real world?”
• “Christianity sometimes gets a bad press, and it can seem like it’s all wrapped up in politics. I’ve been wondering, ‘What exactly is it?’ And how does it deal with ‘How can I know?’ and ‘Why is there suffering?’”
• “I need a thought-provoking book for my spiritual path that will help me rekindle and deepen my relationship with God. I want to experience God’s healing grace and hear the sweet voice of God’s love through Scripture, community, and prayer.”

A Christian believer since age nine, Steven Neil Lund has had seven and a half years of formal study in the Bible, biblical languages, and theology after high school. A dog lover and a CPA (in industry)-retired, he worked for the same company for fifty years, first as a bookbinder on the assembly line, then as an accountant and controller. He and his wife of more than fifty years live in North Carolina USA near their two children and stay in touch with their grandchildren. A newsletter coach once exclaimed, “I yi yi, Steven. Before I met you, I never could have believed an accountant could also be the editor of his company’s newsletter – a numbers guy and a creative.”

About the Author

Like the old Three River Stadium in Pittsburgh, three streams converge in author Steven Neil Lund. First, except for four and a half months as an undergraduate sophomore, he has lived a gospel-centered life since age nine. Then, at the end of his oral exam in 1975 for a Master of Theology degree, the lead professor concluded, “You are well versed in Scripture.” Finally, in his fifty years at a library binding company, he spent the first seventeen in production doing the work and the last thirty-three analyzing it as an accountant. He can see both the abstract reality of financial numbers and the real-life, down-to-earth people behind the numbers.
