About the Author
Lynette Low is one of four daughters born to missionary parents serving in Argentina during the early years of the Dirty War. After her mother was kidnapped and their church was bombed, the family was placed in protected asylum by the embassy and returned to the United States. During her high school and college years, Lynette found healing through writing poetry, music, and journaling. Like many who experience PTSD, she struggled with her faith and walked away from God for a season of about ten years. In her late 20s, several coworkers—strong believers—invited her to a women’s retreat where she rededicated her life to Christ. In her mid-30s, her pastor asked her to serve as Worship Leader, which led to years of building and equipping worship teams across adult, youth, children’s ministries, and nonprofit organizations, always emphasizing the “Heart of Worship.” Lynette has served as a team leader with Praying Pelican Missions in Jamaica and Belize, and for many years led monthly worship at a local men’s mission. She currently serves as a chaplain at the Union Gospel Mission: Women’s and Children’s Shelter. For the past 32 years, Lynette has worked as a school district secretary and is now preparing for retirement to pursue her lifelong passions—writing, painting, gardening, and loving her grandchildren. She has been married for 36 years and is the proud mother of two sons, two daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren.
