BOOK ONE: READING GOD’S WORD AS PEOPLE OF THE 21ST CENTURY
AUTHOR’S POINT OF VIEW: It is the 21st Century CE. 2025 CE is quite different from 2025 BCE. Much has been learned about our Earth and the Universe that these earlier people did not know. They had no microscopes or telescopes, nor would they understand concepts of matter, energy, or DNA. The concept of the number, billion, would mean nothing to them. Time to them would be days, months, years, not eons or eras. God’s inspired word to these early people had to be expressed in a way they could understand. It was like explaining adult facts to a questioning first grader. These people interpreted these early inspired writings as best they could with their limited knowledge. Over thousands of years these writings were collected into scripture which became the Holy Bible. It became tradition to continue to use this early interpretation. People understood these scriptures as these early writers did. Knowledge and understanding the Earth and the Universe was very limited until a few hundred years ago. The invention of telescopes has brought new information and facts about the beginning of everything. Now it is time to adjust tradition with 21st century knowledge and understandings. Today’s Bible readers need to read the Bible as mature knowledgeable adults, using all that modern scientists have learned about the world and early people.
QUESTIONS IN GENESIS ANSWERED: Several times on the Internet articles were posted that really put the Bible in a bad light. One gave lovely pictures but showed the bible with the traditional six twenty-four-hour days and 5000 years in creation and Adam and Eve with the apple. If this is all people see of the bible, it becomes a laughable myth. But the Bible is an amazing book. It is clear and parallels closely the facts given by scientists about the formation of the Universe, Earth and all life on Earth.
Most people know who Adam and Eve were, and their sons, Cain and Abel. They know Cain killed his brother, Abel and had to leave Eden. Cain was afraid someone would kill him. If these four were the only people on Earth, who would kill Cain? And when Cain had to run “East of Eden” who would he marry? Traditionally, the creation of people in Genesis 1:24 and the creation of Adam and Eve in chapter two tell of the same event. However, these scriptures read more accurately as two separate events. Earlier ancient people, Neanderthal or other groups, were created first, thousands of years before Adam and Eve (Homo Sapiens) in whom God breathed the breath of life, creating a different spiritual type of person. When Cain intermarried with this ancient group it was the mingling of the DNA of Neanderthal and Homo Sapien DNA.
More time passed. Adam’s third son, Seth, had descendants who moved east and mingled with the descendants of Cain, additionally mingling the DNA of the two groups. God became very displeased with this mingling.

About the Book
The author wrote four sections called “books”. The first section or “book” points out the need to give more up to-date interpretation to the early chapters of Genesis. There is a very strong parallel of the first chapters of Genesis and science’s steps of creation and this is set down in the first section. Four thousand years before scientists could plot the ages of very ancient life, before telescopes and microscopes were invented, and DNA to help study ancient mankind, this amazing book had a record of this history, and it was written down in God’s Holy Scripture.
In “Book Two” the author set down a precise list of the parts of a strong faith. How would the reader picture God? What image of God did God give His human creation? Why did God create the Universe, the Earth, and all life?
For success in Christian living a person must know God’s Word, the Bible. So, the author wrote a simple commentary of each of the books of the bible. This provides a clear foundation of understanding on which to build a lifetime of Bible study.
About the Author
The author of Faith and God’s Word is just an ordinary person. A graduate of Winthrop University with a masters from Clemson, both in S.C., she is a retired teacher with seven years study with Bible Study Fellowship and a lifetime of various Bible groups. However, she is not a Bible scholar. The thoughts and words for this writing came to the author during nights she could not sleep worrying about her great-grandchildren. She wanted to be sure they had a strong Christian faith and knowledge of the Bible. How would she help them? God showed her some new ways of looking at His scripture. Believing God wanted these ideas set down for others to read, she wrote this book. God has shown the world much more of His Universe and revealed much more of His earliest creation of life. Why is the Bible still interpreted as ancient people did who did not have this new knowledge?
Several weeks before the author began this writing, she found three articles that set her mind busy. An article was published that listed in time order, the major events in the creation of the Universe, the Earth, and life on this Earth. It was quite plain that this order was closely parallel the story of Creation found in Genesis. About the same time, the author came across an article that explained in extensive research with DNA, proof had been found that there was evidence of Neanderthal DNA in the DNA of modern people. The third article that caught the eye of the author concerned flooding in the Black Sea area about 8000 BCE to 15,000 BCE and this reminded the writer of the Bible story of Noah. It was like a bright light bulb went off in the writer’s mind. All this new information was already recorded in the Bible if the Bible were interpreted with this knowledge in mind.
