Every book has an inspirational beginning. This one is quite an interesting one. My beloved husband and I built, owned, and operated a storage facility in our home town for about 17 years. And we had a reader board in front of the property. Through my morning Bible time, I began to save inspirational sayings on my iPad. And I began to place those inspirational sayings on the reader board of our storage facility. It always surprised me how much attention those messages generated. People would call me to thank me for my messages and wanted to tell me how much they loved them! It seemed like they were calling me all the time! And as you can imagine, I simply loved it as it always warmed my heart!
We had quite a bit of highway frontage on that storage facility property. And it just happened to be one of the two entrance highways to our small town. I think people got to where they looked forward to my message as they were driving by. But when the message was not changed regularly, they were missing that new inspiration. So they would call me and ask me when I was going to change it. In two separate encounters, I had a man and then a woman call me and ask me when I was going to change my sign. Both phone calls simply took me by surprise and put a big smile on my face!
One day, a woman called me and said that my message changed her life! Before we were done with our phone visit, we were both in happy tears! It was amazing! And I will never forget it! I believe wholeheartedly that God works in mysterious ways! And I also believe that you do not need a pulpit to share the good news with others! You just need to share in some way!
Good Morning Sonshine is a book that offers 40 devotionals for you to reference as needed much like the people who drove by our storage facility and enjoyed the reader board for a simple inspiration. So I guess you can say that it is a continuation of the messages displayed on our reader board as well as a representation of our 40 wonderful years of life, love, and laughter together.
Here are a few devotionals as displayed in the book:
GOOD MORNING SONSHINE!
Devotional 1
OUT WITH THE OLD AND
IN WITH THE NEW!
New Beginnings are awesome and such a blessing! We must recognize the new and purposefully let go of the old. If we don’t, we may miss the opportunity for growth.
I believe God intended for us to renew our strength daily with the intention of growing stronger in Christ each day. And purposefully spending time with God each morning is a perfect way to begin the new day!
2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation.
The old has passed away;
behold, the new has come.

Devotional 2
LISTEN FOR LIFE’S
GENTLE WHISPER!
Spending time with God is imperative! Know that the more you spend time with God, the more you will recognize His presence in your life.
We know that the enemy seeks to kill, steal, and destroy which means that adversities in this fallen world will indeed come! And it is so Important for us, as Christians, to be able to hear from God through the challenging moments in life. And you have to listen intently because He does not speak to us out loud. So I encourage you to listen for life’s gentle whisper, God!
1 Kings 19:12 ISV
12 After the earthquake there came fire,
but the LORD was not in the fire.
And after the fire,
there was the sound of a gentle whisper.
John 10:10 NIV
10 The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.
I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.
GOOD MORNING SONSHINE!
Devotional 3
GRACE IS A
BEAUTIFUL BLESSING!
Know that we all experience times of suffering in this life.
So, you are not alone!
The good news is that God restores and strengthens us through grace. And His Grace is such a beautiful blessing!
We must live with faith and believe without a doubt that His grace is sufficient for continued restoration, strength, and peace in our lives between and beyond our times of suffering!
1 Peter 5:9-10 NIV
9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith,
because you know that the family of believers
throughout the world is undergoing
the same kind of sufferings.
10 And the God of all grace,
who called you to his eternal glory in Christ,
after you have suffered a little while,
will himself restore you and make you
strong, firm, and steadfast.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
9 My grace is sufficient for you,
for my power is made perfect in weakness.
GOOD MORNING SONSHINE!
Devotional 4
LIFE IS GOOD IN
THE WILL OF GOD!
I am sure you have heard that saying, LIFE IS GOOD! Of course, we all want our life to be good!
Well! It can be!
As long as we don’t allow our own will and desires to control what we do and how we do it, and we mindfully allow God’s will into our life and for His will to be done, It is then that LIFE IS GOOD!
1 John 2:15-17 NIV
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the
world, love for the Father is not in them.
16 For everything in the world –
The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life –
comes not from the Father but from the world.
17 The world and its desires pass
away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever!
