About the Book
Author Kathleen Mulroy Wynands was born with cerebral palsy and has lived with its effects her entire life. Despite this challenging affliction, she did not let it define her. She had dreams, and she did what she could to realize them and bring them to fruition. In Glass Half Full: My Resilient Life with Cerebral Palsy, Kathleen shares an honest, heartfelt, and often humorous personal narrative detailing her journey of adversity and the challenges living with a disability. Beginning with her birth, she provides a glimpse into her life as a middle child in a large, chaotic family. Her life has been fraught with difficulties related to her mobility challenges, and those were compounded by the dysfunction of divorce and remarriage within her nuclear family. She strives daily to overcome and rise above her circumstances, be positive, and always see the glass as half full. Ultimately, by the grace of God, she has triumphed over her happenstance and has realized her dreams of becoming a wife, mother, and teacher of those with special needs. This autobiography offers the inspirational story of one woman’s life dealing with cerebral palsy, encouraging you to face life with fortitude and courage and to never give up.
