…Billy went up to the stranger, shook the old man’s hand, and looked at him in the eyes. Billy was expecting him to ‘sink down’ and stink. He expected the man to sink down like a poor whupped dog and stink like he hadn’t had a bath in a while. But to Billy’s surprised, as he inspected the old man up-close, completing his lightning-fast quick judging of the man, he noticed something strange. This man was rock solid in his confidence and cleanness. Yes, his clothes seemed old and tattered and looked soiled at a distance, but after close inspection, Billy took back his internal and unsaid judgmental criticisms. “His hands are so warm,” Billy thought to himself. “There’s something about him; his eyes are just warm looking. Look at the hypnotizing greenish hazel eyes. Is he looking at me or is looking in me? He looks young in the eyes, yet old on the outside. This old man’s really different.” “Hello, Mr. Taylor. Nice to meet you.” Billy said with a firm handshake.

About the Book
When a young teenager, Billy, confronts challenges in school and at home, he finds help from the most unlikely place. A travelling man that shows up right before Christmas, 1944. Billy soon realizes the stranger, Bus Taylor, wasn’t just another stranger. And although WWII did end before Billy could go to war, there was a different war. He was about to find out what kind of war was really there.
About the Author
Author Rev Sievers is a product of Texas. With a deep blend of protestant doctrines and the unconditional grace influencing his Christian compass. He has enjoyed a life of adventure in aviation without forgetting his country gospel roots. He is a “Son of the Republic of Texas” and a descendant of an old-time German gospel preacher. These roots have fueled the character traits enough to generate a passionate imagination and to glean short stories and novels he recalled hearing from his youth. His is a graduate from University of Houston, a professional in the world of aviation and an avid outdoorsman. After settling in the Midwest with his best friend and wife of forty-five plus years, he now spends much of his time doodling and putting to paper these stories of old, with just a twist of fiction.
