There is something that happens to each of us. It might be in the dark of the night, in a storm, or in the quiet of the day, but at some point, the Almighty opens our understanding of good and evil. We are troubled, and rightly so. Each of us is a sinner, and there is no price we can pay for our bad thoughts and bad actions. We can’t make everything right. God created us and knew our dilemma, and He gave His Son to die. The debt is paid, and we need only to give ourselves to Him and accept His forgiveness. That is the good news for the whole world. When that time came in my life, how well I remember the burden of sin, the irritation and rebellion in my heart as I refused to cooperate with my siblings that evening. They wanted me to sing with them and I couldn’t honestly praise God when I realized I wasn’t serving Him. I climbed those steps alone. It was between me and God. I realized I was so ugly in thought, in action, and in spirit.
