I love the Progressive Churches LGTBQ+ community…enough to tell you the truth. The truth that I was confronted with, while I was blinded in my own besetting sin, from which I found my false identity. Wait…please do not close the book just because I said false identity. I know the LGTBQ+ group are so passionate about their identity wrapped up in their sexual orientation. But if you will accept this…your identity is not in your sexual orientation but in God your maker (Genesis 1:26-27). The sin in our life works to cloud our thinking, preventing us from getting a clear concept of who we truly are and discovering our identity. Once you find your identity from a personal relationship with the Biblical Christ, you can then understand your destiny…but not before hand. People are perishing for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6) so please, given the severity of the consequence, hear me out. I am not against you. I am praying for you in the same way that so many have done for me. If you have gotten this far in the book and are a part of the LGTBQ+ progressive church movement, I want to say thank you for lending me your attention. My prayer is that you would finish the book and at least be open to the possibility that deception is a reality in the world in which we live, and our belief systems may have some underlying falsehoods within them. If that premise seems true, then it follows that some of those falsehoods have infiltrated into church theology and our hearts convictions…though not rooted in Scripture. It may have come subtle, but make no mistake about it, Satan is on the prowl, and he has declared a full-scale attack on truth. A truth so deceptive that many in the church are convinced that they are in right standing before a holy God, only to inevitably find themselves on the broad road that leads to destruction (Matt 7:13). “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death” (Proverbs 16:25). That is scary! It is for this reason that I cannot turn a blind eye on the LGTBQ+ in the Progressive church. I love you too much. It is my hope to appeal to your sensibilities on the subject. The subject as it relates to eternity. Based on what is written in the Bible, we must compel ourselves to look outside of our cultural identity and consider that we may actually have it all wrong. Much like Paul did when he was Saul. It is vital that we do the Biblical research for ourselves and not just take the word of a preacher, teacher, prophet or even mine. My aim is to use the Bible to direct us to a right relationship with Christ with no holding back. My prayer is that you would have no reservations when it comes to surrendering all to Christ. God tells us to “examine ourselves to see if we are (truly) in the faith” (2 Cor. 13:5-6). I invite you to do just that and I hope this book will help. Some of you are on the verge of giving up or have already determined in your heart that there is no God (Psalm 14:1). I pray you will reconsider and that this book will serve as a tool to introduce you to a Hope that fully satisfies.
