About the Book
The Biblical record reveals that God has pursued a relationship with humanity through covenants since our beginning. In fact, covenants establish the central organizing principle of the Bible and provide the basis and context to understand every Christian doctrine. To understand the covenants is to understand the meaning of faith and purpose of our existence. Unfortunately, modern society has lost much of our historical knowledge of covenant customs, so this book considers both Biblical and secular sources to fully understand the five basic tenets of a covenant. God has revealed his true heart for humankind through the Biblical covenants, so we will review every major covenant that God has made with humanity to properly understand God’s heart. We will study those topics often avoided to better understand Biblical encounters from God’s perspective. We seek to understand why God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, the purpose of blood in the covenant, predestination, judgment, and the nature of the Trinity. We will meditate on our discoveries to instill deeper trust in our hearts as a solid foundation for a faithful covenant relationship with Him. Our objective is to actively train our hearts because faith is a matter of the heart, and God is interested in an intimate love relationship from the heart. To know Him is to love Him.
