“I stood at the broken limbs and sobbed, even knowing it is only a tree. Hundreds of people have suffered devastating losses through storms; lives, homes, possessions. My tree is insignificant in comparison. Still it hurts because it stood for a moment in time when a Marine-tough redneck was thinking of his sisters on Valentine’s Day. As my brother’s life became etched with more pain and disability, the tree became a symbol of life that I wanted to will into him. We had lost Mark a month before this February ice, and in that time I had been able to go to the tree for comfort. In some symbolic way, the thriving tree gave life to a worn out world; just as our love for each other loaned beauty to all the scars of our lives.”

About the Book
A walk into the world outside your back door - a garden and the life around it - where God has planted wisdom and encouragement in every seed. Encouraged by life, a lover of gardens, grace and good coffee, Patricia has survived two careers, farming and nursing, She is now living her dream with time to write. Her most enjoyable writing comes from observing God's handprints throughout nature, especially the garden. Her writing experiences have been in blogging, as well as having several articles published in Christian Woman magazine. Patricia has enjoyed speaking for Christian Ladies Days in Kentucky and West Virginia. Her education includes a BSN from Murray State University, School of Nursing. Her living-life degree comes from a 50 year marriage, two children, lots of nieces and nephews, and an unusual thirteen pound Yorkie. Her aspiration is to share encouragement and inspiration with others who are traveling life's ever-changing paths.
