Glimpses of the Present

Heavenly Skies Dear heavenly Father I marvel when I gaze at Your splendor Your omnipresence is majestic You are the dome that curtains the earth The light of the Son is Your present to all of the world Feathery clouds form Your royal robe that glides across paradise as You whisper words within wind Your rainbow is a chest that carries Your promises How splendid it is to witness Your spirit span Your blissful skies. Flights of Fancy A shimmery green hummingbird dons the color spectrum of a rainbow when caught on camera posing before sun- light in flight flutter- ing its wings as it refrains and sings for the glory of the Lord Likewise butterflies symbolize the wonder of what free-form life looks like— From caterpillars that crawl the earth to creatures in cocoon they rest in peace and resurrect in paradise take flight and fan the florid wings of their new bodies rhythmically across the sky they dance to silent songs in celebration of the Lord’s creation. My Favorite Art Gallery My favorite art gallery is the one God gives me with larger-than-life canvas paintings of abstract art with pastel blues and creams and hues of pinks and greens Some sundowns I sit on my bed like a lover of art parked on the bench contemplating paintings in an art(ificial) gallery with a wall-to- wall frame and propless space It’s with this nothingness I see nothing can be more lovely than spending time with God as He sketches and re-sketches clouds, draws strokes here, blots a star there, re-arranges color schemes and moves the moon elsewhere every evening is an abundance of temporary art installations permanently etched in the sky.
