None of them is exactly like the other. Families aren't the same at all. Some are large, others small. Some have two parents,some only one. Some only daughters, someonly sons. Then there are those with a mixture of boys and girls. Whatever your family is like, it's families that make this old world whirl. Among all these differences there is one commonality. Whether they live inland or along the salty seas, they all have a bond with one another called love. That's what makes them a family. On Friends: Friends Day I learned something new today. June 7th is the day we celebrate our friends. It's a blessing to have 'em. True friends sharing loving hearts tender. I hope you have some true friends too. Be they old or be they new Perhaps a lot or just a few. So you can be a blessing too! On Freedom: Freedom Walk Breathe in the fresh air last night's rain left it's scent everywhere Smells like freedom. Birds sing along with me. Our footsteps stepping lively. Sounds like freedom. Expanse of blue sky with it's pale blue hue. Neighbors flying the red, white, and blue. Looks like freedom. Eating cherries, apricots, and red ripe raspberries. I've picked from bushes and trees. Tastes like freedom. Warm sun and ssummer breeze Wandering where're I please. Feels like freedom.

About the Author
Patricia A. Carpenter is a retired elementary and special education teacher. After suffering a minor stroke in June 2022, she was able to write poetry with ease, a gift she attributes to the grace of God. To date, Patricia has written over sixteen hundred poems and has published a rhyming alphabet book. She and her husband, Chris, have two grown children and three grandchildren. They live in Aztec, New Mexico.
